No vertical rear window on SR5. Kind of a bummer.

Looking over the specs sheet, it seems they are trying to shove people in the Limited, Platinum, and 1794 trims.

To me the Limited TRD is the sweet spot. Let's see when the pricing comes out...

That's my fall back plan if they price the Pro over $65k

I know Consumer Reports (or someone like that) was saying it's cheaper to repair aluminum but I didn't see any comments on the quality of the work in that story.

The aluminum on my F150 has held up well over 5 years. A couple parking lot dings, but nothing I haven't experience with other steel bodied vehicles. I havent repaired anything on the body so can't comment on that process.

Just watched a vid from Edmunds and the lady doing the review said Toyota warned them that the new Tundra is NOT a 'value proposition' for the market. Sounds like we should be ready for some sticker shock.

They seem to be playing the 'capability' card a lot. I expect the pricing to not jump by much, but that comes with the caveat that you're getting a truck which isn't necessarily cutting edge or industry best in all categories. Its just caught up to the competition now.

Any truth to the rumour that the Tundra is going to be using a Ford produced variant of their EcoBoost engine vs a net new Toyota built engine?

I guess Im confused, are these official MPGs and 0-60 or just random reviewers?

It looks more and more that the hybrid isn't for me, it doesn't look like it does much in the real world, but that is just preliminary at this point.

    what are the correct numbers?

I was wondering if non hybrid Limited could get the 12" gauge cluster? so far it doesn't look that way.

and boy is that hybrid system heavy, 600 lbs, WOW

point of diminishing returns all things considered? (cost, payload reduction, loss of storage, more things to go wrong, etc)

Toyota mechanic at my dealership. According to him the Supra is running w a largely BMW parted engine. The Tundra is going to use much of the EcoBoost engine repurposed and tweaked bought from Ford’s principal engine supplier.
He could be smoking something but… he’s been a great mechanic for me over the years.

sorry in advance if these are dumb or repeat questions:

the weight of the hybrid system is ?

the weight of the pano sunroof ?

would you all recommend a aftermarket rear sway control system (like https://www.hellwigproducts.com/) to assist in the roll feeling the test drivers are feeling ? and do these sway bars assist anything else such as payload and such as it might disperse some weight across a larger section?

lastly, i had an ‘04 Ford Expedition which I bought in ‘05 and the air suspension system conked out on me at 76,000 miles , I replaced it with spring suspension however i am wondering if the air suspension for leveling the tow vehicle is the weak link ie…. Is this the system that will fail more frequently when towing, if you guys are going to tow with the new Tundra are you all adding the air suspension option?

On paper. In reality, it does 0-60 half a second quicker but it tows less. I'm not sure I care about the performance gain, or the loss in towing, which brings us back to the MPGs. I'm kind of wondering what the point is... BTW, I currently have a deposit down for a hybrid, so I'm speaking for myself here.

I can't believe they'd force people into an upper trim to get one of the best Tundra features. What a GM-esque move.

Given that the engine has been used in the Lexus LS for the last few years, zero truth to it.

My cousin has a white 2019 F150 and you can barely noice the wavy panels. But look on the more “brilliant” colors and its quite noticeable to an untrained eye as myself. I am not sure of the repair process myself either but point being I could only imagine repairs after an MVA making the waves even more noticeable… Honesty though I am purely speculating at this point.
I have no doubt of aluminums longevity or corrosion resistance. Personally I question the corrections necessary after an accident and weather it will look as good as a steel panel after.
