Hey guys, after hitting my tailpipe pretty good, I am looking to get rid of it for clearance. Is there going to be a drone issue if I just take a sawzall to it right after the axle, or are there any better ideas?

    Thanks!

    Alot of them
Most of the dumped systems are right behind the axle. I don't think you would notice much of a change with the OEM exhaust.

I dumped my TRD exhaust recently and didn’t notice any difference in tone or drone. Do you have the standard exhaust? I can’t imagine it would be any problem at all.

These pictures are at full droop. You can see how much the pipe would be hammered if not cut C3A8A0B2-62F1-4FB9-A352-C11115707EE7.jpg57525374-7600-4FEA-8AD8-81C55F06D459.jpg

Beware of the carbon monoxide buildup if you sit inside the truck for any lenght of time while stationary at idle. People have been known to sleep in their vehicle and never wake up again. Just something to consider.

Due to the tailpipe being 12" shorter? It is still in the middle of my bed

Just beware, the farther away the outlet, obviously the better. That said common sense comes in somewhere, so one leaves a few windows open a little bit to get fresh air inside the cab if parked at idle.

Thanks, I never thought it was good for an engine to idle very long, so I don't plan to ever do that. Thanks for looking out!

True, but lets suppose you are on a long trip in the winter. The road gets shut down due to an accident. You have already been driving 16 hours with more to go. Now what? Nap time right? One never knows what adventure lies ahead. Common sense can take you far in life.

I'm not sure what cat back is on my Tundra the original owner put it on but also some stupid cross pipe that caused leverage on the exhaust and started banging on things and melting lines under the Tundra I cut mine right be for the turn up for over the axle and rotated it to the down/side.
