I would say that maybe they put them there for the purpose of running wires, or anything else. I have a bed cover that has drain tubes. I cut a hole in the plastic and ran the tube through there as I have with my other tundras and covers. I guess its just a more ease of access for future use.

I concur. Drainage and accessories would be the most common reasons for these. Some trucks get interior bed lighting, etc. Makes it easier to install, but more importantly, gives people somewhere to route things without potentially violating the engineered structural integrity of the bed (and potentially inducing corrosion) by drilling their own holes.

I read somewhere that somehow was thinking those ports are used during the "dipping" process. A place for hooks used to lift the bed. Seemed logical when I was reading it.

man I really hope I get your luck. My truck is supposed to be delivered between the 18th and 25th. Only problem is I have to be in Georgia on the 17th for four months of training. Really hoping it shows up on the 16th

Mine had the BUILD date moved back some but it actually arrives early once built. That was an April 7th 2021 build date.

Still haven’t seen it in person, but my detailer sent me a pic today when he dropped my truck off at my in-laws. Can’t wait to get rid of all the chrome, but otherwise it looks like a handsome truck!
