That’s the metabo 10” battery power one. I wish it is a Hitachi, the quality went down after metabo brought it.

In no universe are P rated tires ever better for towing than LT’s.

I don’t know where we find these people.

It’s people who don’t ever actually tow and people who haven’t towed with multiple different setups/ loads. Can’t really blame them as most people who tow with a tundra do so recreationally with the same load ie. travel trailer or boat maybe a small utility trailer. Tundras are great at this when used within there ratings.

Like your diamondback cover for camping. The 38 gallon tank works well towing with the V8 reducing fuel stops. Hopefully the 32 gallon tank on the 2022 Tundra will further extend range, will see. We tow a 4900 pound travel trailer all over the lower 48.

The real issue to me with this argument is that it implies that people that Tow do so heavy and near the limits all the time in order to qualify for claiming to Tow somehow?

I Tow a lot but usually around 5K or less and my RV trailer is under 4K usually as well. In few Universe' that I have towed with these weights is a load range E tire preferred or needed really and can only bring heartache and sorrow for everyday driving too.

I have switched to E tires twice and using the exact same tire other than rating and each time regretted the move though I tried endlessly to talk myself into what a good idea it was,I just don't usually need that type of load rated tire and for sure dont appreciate the ride and handling and noise that they provide either and I had to learn that the hard way,by spending the extra money too and then waiting for them to wear down which is almost NEVER!

I also work on unimproved construction sites a lot and though the P rated tires are absolutely not as tough as higher rated higher ply count tires I have never had a puncture with them anyway?
Until tomorrow probably having said so.

We just do not all work our trucks the same way and with the same needs and there is wrong way to run the rubber except overloaded.
OK maybe also oversized off road looking for no reason aside from looks but that is pretty harmless too if in responsable hands?

So for me and what I do I prefer the stock size and rating in an AT tire even for my frequent towing use and constant use working the truck,YMMV clearly.

Thing is, if it were put to an anonymous vote, 99% of the mod's decisions would be upheld by the community here anyway. We've generally got a pretty good group of people here, and that includes the moderators.

Agreed. Last year I got a month ban for posting a pic that was meant to be humorous but was political in nature. Was I a bit salty about it? Sure.

    BUT

In the forums and FB groups I moderate, I've always made it a very clear point that joining the group means they have read *and* accepted the terms of the rules, and the very same rule - no political/religious content - applies there. SO, in essence, I was guilty of the very same rules I apply. If I didn't know/wasn't aware, that was on me.

Yup. I got a 30 day vacation for a pic of a person in the word association thread. She's the only person with the name that popped into my head, but because she comments on taboo issues I got the hammer. I grumbled, but I got over it in time.

I have ran e load tires a few times. But my favorite has been load C tires. A good compromise between ride quality and strength to know you can hit a little more stuff going a little faster and carry a little more weight without worry. Lt tires are put on trucks for mpg gains and softer ride. I don’t consider them a truck tire.

It's p rated or passenger tires that the manufacturers put on trucks for ride quality and mpgs. C D and E tires would all fall under LT tires. I wouldn't mind running C range but I couldn't find them in the tires and size I wanted so I ended up with Es.

Just from this forum it seems like most of those people were expecting Toyota to make the Tundra a 3/4 ton, which they were never going to do. Considering the payload ale towing went up, the new truck doesn’t depart from what they need, the old truck never was what they need.

That was my thought to. They fixed the issues that 90% of the people complained about, made it more capable in every way yet somehow they departed from what the enthusiast needed? Payload wasn't increased as much as some wanted but it is a half ton truck, it was never going to be HD. I do firmly believe Toyota is much more conservative with their numbers than Ford is and would be willing to bet that the tundra can haul and tow just as well as the Ford can, Ford is just pushing the limits and Toyota has a much large margin for safety.

Agreed. Here's the short list of what many wanted with the new Tundra:

    1. Literally every issue anyone has ever had, EVER, with the 2/2.5G Tundra fixed.
    2. Best MPG of any 1/2 ton truck.
    3. Most HP/TQ of any 1/2 ton truck.
    4. No shortcomings at all, ever, anywhere on the truck.

Me? I dunno if I'll trade mine in, but all I want is

    - a bit more HP/TQ
    - a bit more towing power
    - a bit more MPG
    - and for it to also be a Tundra.

Wow this is such a relief to me,why didnt I consider your opinion as Gospel somehow?

I am interested in a simple Tundra and the new ones seem to be anything but that to me.

Yes the Engine alone changes my impression of suitability for my needs plain and simple.

Also we literally have no evidence at all just yet to see if any claims of the new model are for real.
I am not saying that they are not I am saying that no one knows yet as no one has one yet.

I had to go to a 17” wheel just to find what I considered the perfect tire size and strength for my truck. They make way more sizes in E.

There’s dozens of videos out there of people who have actually driven the vehicles and much more info on them coming out in two days. You think the whole launch might be a prank?

That makes sense, when I had my Tacoma, I had 17 in wheels and had c tires in all terrain. When I was looking for my Tundra, there was nothing all terrain in c for 18 in wheels.

I guess I'm the odd man out.

I just wanted to see what they did with it, as I had no intention of changing my current truck. Wouldn't have mattered if they kept a V8, and added the bits that I want(ed) on my current truck. I window shop vehicles like the stereotypical women shop for shoes. I just like to look at all the new. Good/bad/whatever it's fun to watch it all.
