Replaced my antenna. The rubber degraded completely so I swapped it with a nicer looking model. Literally never use the radio so I don't care about signal.

Picked my truck up from the body shop today. Had some rust developing because a windshield replacement was done poorly and their tool gouged passed the paint in several spots. The repair took a week.
The shop removed the windshield to check and repair the glass channel. The back window, cargo light and satellite antenna were removed to achieve a factory finish. Had some dents, door dings and creases removed while in the shop too. I’m impressed at how they can do such paintless dent repair so perfectly.

anyway, it’s back and rust free.

Trimmed off the excessive amounts of front wheel well cover so it didn’t didn’t look weird off the side of the front bumper, and replaced my stock headlight bulbs with Sylvania Silverstar Ultras. Now if only I could put the vertical support beam for the grille back on…oh well, that’ll likely have to wait till after I get back from #elk2021.

I have an older 650 model when it came out a few years ago. While it was a great camera, there have been a few issues with the Blackvues and the bitrate on the videos are not that high, even at the highest setting. In contrast, I also had a cheap G1WC which had higher bitrate which produced sharper and clearer videos than the Blackvue. Given the cost and issues I had with the Blackvue, I ended up with a Viofo A129 dual channel. I always recommend getting a dash cam, doesn't have to be the best but just something that can record so you have a witness in case of accidents.

Yeah, I went back and forth for a long time before I purchased the BlackVue. Lots of options out there. Thinkware and BlackVue seemed to be the two highest rated, and the BlackVue seemed the less conspicuous of the two.

Like I say, just a 24-hour sample, but so far I’ve been impressed by not only the clarity, but the parking/motion-activated mode as well. Hopefully they got some things ironed out in this model.

The bed rack project continues  I added a skinny roof basket rack for miscellaneous stuff and to balance out the look of the whole unit. It seemed very empty having the Yakima cargo box running solo. Currently, I have my traction boards strapped and locked in the basket. Just need to make some small adjustments and tweaks on the whole system and hopefully this project is in the books for good (I have a feeling that it'll never be done hahaha!). I promise this is the last post of this!

Let me see if imgur will let me upload and link. Two weeks ago a guy on a Harley laid his bike down to avoid hitting me. He was rolling through a stop sign turning left while looking right. When he looked back left I was there and already slowing. He was startled and laid his new bike down. Not sure how, but his right knee went through his mirror. Broke that and the shifter pedal. His passenger escaped without injury even though she went down with the bike.

Three weeks before that I recorded a head on wreck in an intersection. I've recorded A-hole aggressive drivers and distracted drivers. Of course, I have to watch what I do while driving too.....lol

Finally decided to buy a light bar from RigidHorse (found on Amazon) will be installing it behind the bumper valance. I also bought a wiring harness from Amazon but few reviews and comments say that the light switch stays on at all times. Is there a way on my end to fix that? I don’t want my battery drained and I also want the switch to work independently

Bought the Hewitt gen2 kit today with PSO's for my '08. PO had replaced one pump at ~60,000 miles, dealer replaced the other at 150,000 miles before I bought it. Now the first pump is going out again and one air switching valve is throwing codes. I've been in and out of limp mode for a couple weeks. I'm tearing it all out!! I'll report back when I get the Hewitt kit in.

Yeah... I know. It's just been frustrating. Any benefit to leaving it in other than less work? I don't have to do emissions testing.

Not that I'm aware of. I plugged the brain box between the MAF sensor & harness and the 2 block off plates in the exhaust & I was done. 30mins tops. Cured my P02442 w/no problems 2+ years going...

I never did hook up the jumper wire from the starter to the fusebox (?)

Ordered it direct from BlackVue- arrived in less than a week.

Install was extremely easy. The cameras mount to the windows with adhesive, and running the wiring is just a matter of pushing it up under the headliner and behind the interior plastic with a trim tool while you route it where it needs to go. The kit comes with a 12-volt plug and and a hardwire option, which is what I used. The hardwire is just a matter of tapping into two fuses (one constant power, one switched) and a ground. The whole thing took me about an hour, and I could probably shave at least 15 minutes off of that if I were to do it again.

After 7k I did my engine oil change yep I know took too long I had been putting off for too long but did it. Oil came out as dark as possible and used 8 qts of 0W-20 from Toyota dealer. Also changed my differential oil and I saw this on the drain plug which I’m sure is not normal so I’m glad I did it. At 154k differential check next up transmission oil

7k miles is fine. The manual says 10k.
    Why toyota brand motor oil?
That drain plug looks fine for the (first?) change ever
