I hear you. Unfortunately, we live a country where jay walking isn't a legal term so people basically have carte blanche to walk wherever they want. I think since roadkill isn't a legal term either, I think drivers should be able to drive over jaywalkers. In Battlefield, you get an extra 10 points for running over another player with a vehicle. Maybe we can award points similarly in real life, redeemable for fuel discounts?

Alberta is the Texas of Canada.

And on a legal note, here if a pedestrian is in a crosswalk, they legally have the right of way. So people just walk out on the road because they are "right" with no care of the 6000 lb vehicle who is also on the road.

And if they're in a crosswalk, I don't mind as long as I'm far enough way to not have to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting them.

I'm angered by the doofus who decides to come to a halt in the road because a squirrel darted out in front of her car. And then gets worked up when I honk at her. I guess it's more important to save the squirrels than to cause a wreck.

I TRY to hit squirrels! Danged things chew through my soffits and nest in my attic. I won't cause an accident but if it's clear and I have a shot, that may just be a gray furry flat spot in the road after I pass by.

A couple things from my drive this morning, plus a bonus.

    1. Bicyclists that don’t stay in the bike lane. I don’t give a phuk your skinny azz tires are intimidated by street grates and leaves. You brought a knife to a gun fight. Put proper street tires on even of they make it 5% harder to peddle. Get more exercise and quit holding up traffic you entitled wanker.
    2. Tacoma “bros” with their truck fully kitted out for overlanding/zombie killing. Don’t phuk’n glare at me because I have a Pro that’s clean and not sporting a roof top tent. I’m too busy adulting to play that game and I have zero credit card debt. Suck it.
    3. People that think you shouldn’t own a truck if you are not doing truck stuff. These clowns are usually the first to be “freedom for all” in other topics but get all hater when they see their neighbor driving a truck as their daily. Pick a side…

    Okay, I feel better.

    Agreed on all points.

Except I have a rtt now lol. But I did finally get new tires instead of the stock Michelins. But I had too, was hoping for a change next spring but a blown tire forced my hand early. No regrets.

    Agreed.

Cyclist - understand that roads were built for VEHICLES. Your use of them is secondary. It’s not the vehicle’s responsibility to make sure not to run over you - it’s yours to stay out of their way when reasonably possible. Same to our Amish friends and their damn buggies.

I don’t drive down railroad tracks and bitch when the train doesn’t slow down for me and get over.

    2. Vehicle customization is a personal choice. Wanna buy a Jeep and make it look like your in the Army - go for it. But don’t act as of you are somehow anything more than a person who customized a Jeep. Wanna play GI Joe - plenty of recruiting stations where you can sign up and get paid to do it and they give you a free Jeep too.

    3. Again, wanna buy a 1 ton diesel and drive to the Home Depot and sit in the parking lot acting like your a “real” truck owner - go ahead. To be a “real” Big 3 domestic owner though - you might as well set at home on the internet bitching about all the problems your having with it or how an oil change cost you $350 at the dealer.

I’ll also say…I fully support paying for bike lanes. Honestly think we should have more of them. Just stay in your lane.

And I don’t care if you kit your truck to use it or as a fashion statement while you park at the mall. Your truck. Your money. Just don’t hate on me…
