    I have 2020 tundra sr5 with tss

Anyone install a cold intake system in their tundra ?

If so, is it worth it and what kind?

My 2 cents, not worth it... you may lose power, but get awesome V8 sounds out of it... research SABM on here.. TRD air intake requires an ecu flash for additional ponies..

Cold Intake not worth it. Exhaust is. You get the sound without having to floor it

Not worth it, killed my fuel mileage and no noticable increase in power. Didn't install on my second Tundra.

The Stillen is worth it imo, not really the others.

I put in the S&B system well over a year ago. Not a noticeable difference in sound or power in my opinion. The mod was fun to complete with my son because it was easy and we had a good time so that was awesome. I do like when I open the hood and see that huge box with the clear top that looks really cool. If not for that I might regret the spend.

Since CAI, as pertains to our trucks, is just a means to isolate the intake air from engine heat, you already have it. An 'advantage' of a different filter might be increased air flow; but increased air flow without ECU tuning and paired/accommodating exhaust is going to do wonky things to gas mileage and performance, as noted above. IMO, unless you're going to do something to significantly impact horsepower, don't worry about the 5 or 10 extra you can get from this or that. Set Tow/Haul mode / turn off nannies and enjoy the 380 you already have. Add that money to cat protection plates, suspension mods, audio, or buy yourself a nice new knife.

And welcome to the forum, from Texas. Nice to meet you.

I agree with this same experience with a K&N. Just put a k&n or afe filter in stock box and you're good to go

yes, 07-15 I believe, but you were required to either have them install it, or borrow it and come with it installed.

After I installed bigger tires my truck was a little sluggish. I had a k&n air filter in the stock box. It always stumbled at wide open throttle. I actually thought it was a bad fuel pump. But after I put the stillen cold air intake on the stumble went away and I could tell the difference. I normally don't like cold air intakes, but when I saw the ram air tube on the stillen, I ordered one.

Ive tried out a drop in afe dry filter, an afe magnum cold air intake, and now have a stillen tru power intake. I felt like I only noticed a difference with the stillen.

They have a well designed alternative to an already established unit from the factory.

    Too many, but not enough....
Surprised nobody mentioned already that the stock system is already a CAI, just doesnt look as cool or sound as good as aftermarkets. IMO its not worth it unless its a sound or aesthetic thing.
