It's been another rough year y'all. But our favorite time is coming up… Tundras.com SECRET SANTA!!!! We would like to welcome you to TSS 2021. This year marks the fourth year and we have some high expectations for greatness this year.

Here's the timeline for you A.D.D. kids…


October 15th, signup starts.

November 15th, signup closes.

November 16th-21st, names are distributed.

You can send gifts as soon as you receive your name.

Everyone should hopefully receive their gifts BY Christmas. We understand there are often delays. If there is a serious delay, you will likely get a message from @Secret Santa asking what the deal is. If you don’t respond, we will be ready with the ban-hammer and you’ll end up on the @KRAMPUS list of naughty children. You could alleviate this by having a friend PM your recipient letting them know there is a delay or mail them a postcard letting them know there is a delay. Be creative, people!

NAME SUBMISSIONS CLOSE NOVEMBER 15TH AT 12 Noon EST, NO EXCEPTIONS and we mean it!!!! There are time stamps, so don’t even fuss.


NEW RULES AS OF 2021:


Members must have joined before January 1st of the year participating. (Before 1/1/21 this year)

Members must have at least 250 posts by October 15th to be added to the list! Don’t BS your way to 250 if you have 172 posts currently. Just participate more in the community and join in the fun next year. We have the rights to deny participation to anyone for any reason (unlikely to happen but some people are on a one year time out or permanent ban from future events due to various reasons).

If someone gets banned for any reason while during the Secret Santa season and they are participating, they will be removed from the event and will be banned from future events. THIS IS YOUR WARNING TO BE ON YOUR BEST BEHAVIOR!




Some simple rules:

- Keep gifts PG-13 unless you know the recipient personally, lets not upset spouses or make things awkward for anyone… (again)

- Absolutely NO WHINING!!! If you whine incessantly, you may face a ban from future events.

- Assclownery and douche-baggery will not be tolerated. Try to stay on topic, otherwise elves may try to beat you with a stick.

- YOU must do the legwork once pm'd. If you need help, ask a friend to help. Mr. Claus WILL NOT do your dirty work.

- You must send a gift to the name you get, no exceptions EX: don't see eye to eye, don't like their mama, etc. Chris Cringle DGAF.

- Once on THE LIST, you must send something REASONABLE to the name pm'd to you.

- Names will begin being pm'd out after Nov.15th, plenty of time to get a gift for Christmas.

- You may be sending a gift out of the Country. There’s no opt out for this.

- Same as years past, there is no cap, you can be as generous as you wish but there is a $30 minimum for gifts excluding shipping costs. If you decide to go nuts and spend a ton of money, don't expect the same from your secret santa.

- We will do our best to make it fair and not have anyone in the same state, but it's hard when we have so many participants each year.

- Mods and Saint Nick here on Tundras take no responsibility if someone flakes and does not send a gift. We will do our best to fix it, since we will have their names/addresses…. Maybe I’ll send cousin Vinny to break their kneecaps.

- As long as you're on the commit list with full name AND handle, you will send AND receive a gift.

- Once a gift is received, please post a picture. Don’t make your SS sit there anxious and freaking out, wondering if a porch private snagged your booty. Please make sure to censor names and addresses to protect everyone’s privacy, or what little we have left nowadays. Please proactively check for packages but don’t whine daily about not receiving anything. It’s annoying and you don’t want to anger the elves.

- If possible, keep proof of the item being sent in case it's lost/stolen in the mail. At the very least, we can prove that it was sent out. Santa doesn't need this information proactively.

- Once Nov 15th, 12 Noon EST is here, you can not back out of your commitment, to be fair. We use time stamps, don’t try to argue this.

- If you choose to send your gift in a box, it's your choice to wrap it or not. Recommendation is to not send it in the box it came in, as to ruin the surprise.

Check this post on October 15th for signup instructions. Posting “IN” does nothing here. And it’s annoying.

I missed out last year because I just joined the forum last year. I did read all the "What did you receive" posts and it sounded fun. Glad I can take part this year!

 

I hadn't been here long enough last year to join in the games.
Not gonna miss it this year!
