Why are all the lasers and sensors mandatory. Dont want any of that garbage on the truck. How do I disconnect all that to run a simple brush guard??

My hope is all these bring the cost of insurance down. While being turned off for the life of the vehicle.

    Ok what about cruise

I just want regular cruise control. Not lazer cruise control that interferes with everything. This is getting ridiculous

Will it retain all the settings once I turn everything off. Dont understand why I'm forced to pay for all that garbage then they let me disable it

And I dont want to keep having ti program the computer every time I get in the truck

You don’t have to pay for it. You can get a pre-18 tundra.

The amount of complaining I hear on this forum sometimes reminds me of the old lady in the Toyota dealership I overheard when buying my LC. "I don't want to pay for no fancy bluetooth on my Corolla". The salesman had to tell her multiple times that he can't remove it.

I’m pretty sure the same types complained when fuel injection was introduced to replace carburetor’s.

“All this damn electronic fuel stuff is just ridiculous and unnecessary. I don’t know about you but I rather have to pump the pedal to start the car than have all this fancy shit that will just break.”

    Wait what?

I gotta stop you here for a moment…

If any vehicle in my area needs Bluetooth it would definitely be “pickups”. The amount of contractors and soccer Dads that almost cause serious accidents because they are A.) talking on the phone or B.) trying to operate the phone is unnerving. No one pulls over and stops to use a phone…life would seize to exist. The manufacturers THANKFULLY adapted to societies impatience.

They are there for due to the fact that the majority WANT them. Toyota will please the majority, not the minority.
I would like a manual trans, but I'm not getting that either.

A manual transmission doesn’t serve the same purpose. I respect the fact that you want it and may very well need it. BUT Bluetooth has the potential to safe lives by keeping phones out of people’s hands while driving. The manual transmission doesn’t.

All these schmancy doo-dads are why I like older vehicles I can fix my self.

No need to update the software for the latest version of tomfoolery.

I believe toyota can disconnect the front safety stuff on request if you are heavily modifying the truck or adding a front guard or something. I read something when i bought my truck. They will disconnect it and reflash your software and they put a sticker next to your ignition saying that they disconnected it for legal stuff.

Because they are selling trucks to a bigger crowd than just you. More people want it than don't.

Kinda looks like you are just bitching to bitch. I think your solution is just to buy an old truck and be done with it.

Op, i like dinosaurs and low tech also. I get where you are coming from. Its the reason i bought a tundra. You dont sound like the kinda guy who wants a turbo engine in his truck anyway. Why not buy a current gen tundra or a stripped down XL F250? They dont have any of that garbage. I was going to get a F250 but ford has gotten way too big for their britches and was charging like 15k over sticker when i was looking.
