What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

Looks like a wireless phone charger.

 

I painted mine on my 2013. The only problem is that they don't stay clean that long.

 

Do you know anyone who has done this and how it looks and the longevity? Perhaps got some pictures? I'm a little nervous about it.

 

I redid the turn signal TSB. I had already done the TSB and made an appointment on 09/30 to close the recall on my truck. When I made the appointment I mentioned that I had already done the recall service. I had to reschedule because of work and again mentioned I had already done the TSB. When I arrived at the dealership, I mentioned again, that I had already done the work and was only there to have it inspected and have the recall closed. Of course the point of this story is, the service advisor did not inform the “Tech” that the work was already done. The “Tech”, not even bothering to read the the TSB apparently, moved the wire from the new position back to the factory position, dimming the turn signals again. I already mistrusted dealerships and screwing up something as simple as putting eyes on 2 wires and saying “Yep, it’s done”, definitely didn’t help them out. Alright, turn signals are bright again and my rant is done! Thanks for listening.

 

There has been a few that have had theirs Line-X'ed. Line-X wraps around the entire piece and it very durable. I have my flares and both bumpers done in Line-X Premium.

I just looked at your truck and that looks awesome! So make sure the LineX guy does LineX premium? I'm planning on doing only the bumper ends and leaving the middle black plastic alone.

 

Yes. The Premium had the UV blocker in it so that it doesn't fade or turn gray.

Will update after receipt/installation on my Tundra. Worked incredibly well on his Raptor in equalizing tire pressure (he had connected to an onboard dual ARB compressor; I’ll be using with the viair 400 portable compressor since it’s what I already own—system allows for compressor hardline connection or portable connection) Deflated tires in about 5 min from 38psi down to 22psi; and inflated back when done off-roading in about the same time. Made for a much better ride experience for washboard and bumps in dirt road without the hassle of going tire by tire to make adjustments.

I picked up a plastic 7/8" chair leg cap from Ace Hardware to serve as a dust cap and tone down the brass color a bit.

 

Added Bed rails, d rings, TRD pro knock off grill, removed side steps, and changed bedside decals.

I performed the DC rear fold down seat modification today. I simply used a grinder to zing about an inch off the hooks and reshape them. Cost: $0


Now I need to decide how to cover/protect the seatbacks (plastic?, rubber?, carpet?) and maybe add some molle panels to the back wall to organize this new space.

 

Just be aware - there isn’t a lot of actual space back there when the seat buttons are folded UP. Pay attention to how the lower part of the seat back “cams” toward the back of the truck as the bottom is lifted.

I still miss having that little bit of space, but trying to shove too much back there can make it tough or impossible to actually move the seat.

 

Yeah. I saw that. It’s pretty much giving me better access to the existing space, and a platform (when down) for larger items.

 

I painted them in place after masking the rotors, rubber pieces, bolt heads and pins.

Yeah just die from homeless mfs, mud slides or wild fires. Not to mention lack of water and taxes. Lol
