Thought I would post up how I installed my DOT Baja Design Fog Lights using the factory fog light wiring on my 06’.

Hardest part was pulling the factory fog lights out, after that start to finish was about 45min.

After the lights are removed I drilled a 3/8” hole at the end of the small slot where the arrow is pointing.
    57E1123D-84D7-4A18-9F80-74A8D25F29F0.jpg

Then I just pulled the factory wiring through the opening, cut off the connector and then installed the supplied Weather pack connector.

I used a 1/2” nylon spacer and a washer to fill the cap in the plastic bumper. I used a 3/8” x 1 1/2” bolt and snugged it into place.

I purchased some cheap aftermarket empty fog light buckets, and trimmed them to fit around the new lights. I used masking tape and a vibration tool to make the cuts. These pics are before I cleaned up the burrs.

Then popped the covers into place.

All in all, really simple install. They don’t vibrate at all. Being DOT they are still really bright, like I can’t tell the headlights are on.

The cool thing is, it’s really easy to swap out the lenses to non DOT or amber, and I can turn them on and off with the factory fog light switch.

I’ll get some more pics up soon.

They are still really bright, and it’s only $10 each to swap the lenses if I want a little more

shoutout to the op, this is the first legit write up I’ve seen. Looks good

That’s the exact setup I have. The only difference is I didn’t cut the back out. I ended up drilling a hole in the top and bottom in the blanks. Top hole gets the bolt run through it. Bottom hole gets the wiring through it. I used flat washers and lock washers to take up the slack. Zero vibrations. Mine don’t set as far in board idk if it effects spread or not

I just realized I have zero pictures of it. Just the finished product

Don't let a kid out smart you.
Thats how I have my Fog lights wired for my bumper. Granted it is switching four of them. But using the old wires made install so much easier.IMG_2509.jpg

I know this is an old thread but does anyone know if there is an adapter to make the Baja design SAE a plug and play to our Factory fog plug? 06 Tundra. All the other Plug and Play adapters I've seen are for newer models.

Is it not the same as what I used for the Diode Dynamics SS3 on my truck? Link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DCN8XNG/

Oval end plugs into factory I think, and the box end went into my SS3.

Note: Tug test any adapter you use on these! It required more force than I expected to engage the snap, probably because of the water/weatherproof plugs.

@shifty` To me the ends don't look the same. This is the end on my BD squadron and the other end is my factory fog plug. From what I can gather, our factory plug end is called h11 h8 from my searches on Amazon. I just can't find anything with both of these ends on it. Or at least what I think looks like it would fit.

So, what I can tell you is this: Most connectors have a name to them. I looked up the specs for my DD-SS3 lights, and that's how I learned the connector they use is called the "Deutsche DT/DTP" or whatever. I also knew the foglight was a 9006 standard connector. I took that info, then went to scAmazon and searched for "Deutsche DTP to 9006 adapter" and that was one of the top-rated results. Sounds like that's what you did.

Anyway, is this not what you have? Not saying you need to buy from them, but this looks like the 2-pin weatherpack Baja is using: https://www.kdfabworks.com/Plug-and...-Harness-H1090059006--Baja-Designs_p_505.html

So the problem was that everywhere else I read I was getting another connector name and even if I Googled 06 Tundra fog light connection I was getting the other name that popped up which was weird because I never could find one that actually looked right. I got a hold of Colton over at Hotshot off-road and he's going to ship me one.

Yeah, H10, 9005, 9006 all use the same, I assume you and I have the same foglight.

This looks like it may be that 2-pin, which looks like what GM uses. https://www.delcity.net/store/Weather-Pack-Female-Housing/p_809164.h_809166.r_IF1003

But sounds like you got it covered.

Yep that is correct. Colton called it a weather head to 9006 I believe. Which is not what any of my search results came up with. But I got it figured out now I think, thanks.
