I fully agree I think some of the slipperiest roads occur in the fall. Rain soaked roads covered with wet leaves Suck!!!

 

You would be under Gulf States Toyota Distribution, so maybe they work differently, but I doubt it. Apparently Toyota and the dealerships don't work directly with each other. There is these separately owned distribution companies between them. Which is why in Texas you get a TSS package, added from GSTD and SETF supplied dealerships have the XSP package, which is basically the same thing. Lift, wheels and badges added by the distributer.

 

I'm in Florida and that is what I've been told. They will search their upcoming inventory and then all the dealers owned by a their corp. i.e. Autoway Toyota.

 

That is mostly right. The dealer will request a specific build to be included in its allocation and Toyota will adjust a scheduled build at the plant to produce ASAP. What typically will happen is Toyota will have a build in the process and just change color or few options to meet dealer request as long as the plant has the necessary parts on hand. Or if Toyota already has a truck that meets the build they will simply swap units so the dealer requesting will get the correct truck. Once the trucks are out to dealers will first look to trade for your recommended build before going to Toyota.

Hey, all you boat people, did you know there's a new Tundra coming out soon? You should discuss this new development...

 

I own a boat (24' parti kraft, with tandem trailer) and am 2wd, never had any issues in NM or AZ. Good tires and a few brain cells works wonders.

 

idk, I don't have inside info from Toyota, but I waited for 4 months trying to get a 2016 Tacoma in a 6-speed and white. Dealership told me all they do is request what is in the SET network be directed to them. Toyota decides only a certain percentage will be built of the trims and colors, with more directed towards the more popular sellers. I was calling once a month trying to buy a truck, I would think if it was in their power to do so, they would have gotten something at least even close to what I wanted.

 

We have ALL the info available on the new Tundra coming out soon and 561 pages mostly of speculation on the new Tundra coming out soon....there is Nothing left to discuss on "this new development ".....unless you have some more speculation to add to it?

Depends where you are. The dealer I linked would normally have 40-50 Tundras left in their inventory at this time of year. They currently have 2. Can't be saying what you see applies to everyone

 

Good tires only get you so far on a slick ramp with 2wd.

My prediction for fuel economy is 18 (combined) for non-hybrid and 23 (combined) for hybrid

 

What is the difference between a limited trd off road package and trd pro performance wise? Is it just shocks and maybe a 1 inch lift on the front? I always thought the pro wasn't worth the price on the 2nd gen with discounts on sr5s and limiteds vs msrp pros.. But if every 22 is msrp at best pro may be worth it if only 5k more than a limited. I'm guessing 59-62k for a pro base.

What I know so far, Pro has custom shocks, 1.1" front lift, grill w/ lightbar, wider stance w/ marker lights, 18" BBS wheels, CMSB and iForce MAX only.

 

Man that's expensive You could get a 6.7 HO cummins for that much $$and drag the turbo tundra around like a little red wagon

Can confirm. Every day on the water with my boat is a happy day.

 

I've got a 21' Searay, that and trailer, run probably about 6500 lbs. Most of the time, I don't have to go into 4wd, but once in a while, when there is seaweed, or sometimes green slimy on the ramp, I have had to pop it into 4wd for a minute to get up beyond that. I've seen a few 2wd vehicles with similar (or smaller) sized boats, spinning their wheels till smoke is coming off - the tires, which granted, isn't doing themselves any favors, but it's not a pretty sight.

 

I got tired of the sandbag in the back for snow driving with rwd trucks. Ohh and getting stuck in sand..had first 4wd 2019 4runner and was hooked. This 2016 Tundra is even more sure-footed the the T4R imo especially in snow !

Really liking the new look but truck prices being insane, may have to hold the 16 to 2026 minimum !

 

They make the TRD Boat Option too for anybody wondering. You drive right in and then boat keeps you afloat.
