did you know the console lid slides?
Just grab the handle for opening , act like you going to open it but slide it forward instead.

The cord in the cup holder is super distracting, I thought you doodled those to highlight that area; it took me multiple skims to realize what you were talking about. It now makes me what to go out and see if our 4runner does it!

When ever I get into a new to me vehicle, I start jerking everything around like a deranged monkey. I’ve had good luck with not breaking things and I usually find all of the cubbyholes.

The way that Toyota wrote the owners manual puts me to sleep in about 5 minutes and I have spent a great deal of time reading through FANUC manuals.

You are correct. My 2nd gen (aka B variant) doesn't do this.

It probably only works on the consoles of the early 2nd gens since the later models got different console design.

I figured this out when I was watching videos to replace my console cover. However, I was not been able to figure out how to get the sliding piece back on when putting everything back together.

I scoot mine up toward the steering wheel for a better reach while driving.0519190712[3860].jpg It wasn't very useful to me the way the geniuses at Toyota designed it but I padded it up enough to do the job.

Yeah, the top is hard on the elbow. I have a Lexus LS460. The top of the console lid is padded, as is the arm rest on the door. I can put my elbows on them and my hands on the steering wheel and drive for hours.

0522191457[3946].jpg That's how the Tundra should've left the factory.I had to do the designer's job for the driver's side armrest too. With the extra padding on the console,it puts both arms rested and straight out to the steering wheel.
