There are a few 300K+ mile S/C Tundras lurking around here. A few posted on a long thread a while back. Some were installed on day one but quite a few were late mileage installs (100K + Miles).

That’s good to know! My miles are mostly from the 120 mile round trip a day going to the place I used to work for! Paint still looks good!

Thank you sir! I went with the Harrop because it’s more efficient and I can turn it up later if I want. I love it so far! My truck was a whole different animal on even the stock calibration! Now it’s getting unbelievable for such a heavy truck! Can’t wait to install a stage two pulley! Everyone have a good one!

How much you think the stage 2 will put out if you add some Long Tubes? I’m waiting for my renewal and thinking about upgrading the pulley, injectors and maybe some Long Tubes . Kinda got the hang of her now, she’s starting to feel slow lol

I’ve heard headers with good exhaust add 50+ horsepower. Maybe more???

Lol I’m sitting on 17s so BBK are out of the question. I currently have R1 Concepts. So far they’ve been good to me on/off-road

What I replied is what I read on Dirty Deeds testing on exhaust. Now if it’s true???? I think with tuning and headers it was pretty good hp gain.

It's fun to follow this thread. When my time comes to decide between the Harrop and Magnuson blower, the experiences here will probably end up tipping it one way. It's great there's supercharger competition.

I've had the TRD blower in my 2012 Tacoma since purchase and never had any issues with it. It turns that little truck into a rocket. No codes and it spent several years pulling a 5500lb trailer. Since retired.

Now I’m retired I said screw it I ain’t got much longer driving so now is the time! I’m kicking myself in the ass saying damn you should have done this long before now!!! Lol!

    Racing is dangerous.

There's no reason to lose to a Ram. You got the power.

Yup, that's what I read too and here is my reply with links to the threads and video of dyno from Keith and Dirty deeds. 49hp and 89 tq from N/A engine. Can only imagine the numbers would be higher if you add additional boost.

I could very well be wrong but that seems to be the trend for the big gains.

I had to do emissions on the Taco this morning. I always get a little worried there's some new law in CO where it won't pass. Stock exhaust, DD on the Tundra.

Hi, I am new to this forum.

Big fan of Whipple (you have to be a little more hands on but if you know what you need, its worth it).

A lot of talk here about SC with no tune. Besides running like sh*t, you can really damage something and it is not cheap to fix. Tuning for the track straightforward however tuning for a daily driver is simply more complicated. Even the box tune from maggie's sucks on my 4runner (wish I went with Whipple and would have if tuning was available). HPTuners doesn't even whisper about working on Toyota and probably wont happen this year. But I will be first in line for a SC (Whipple) and LT on the tundra when HPtuners cracks everything.

quote - Besides running like sh*t, you can really damage something and it is not cheap to fix.

please expound on that statement. it runs contrary to my present situation & dyno results.

Whipple is nice, however, it simply produces boost like the rest of them. See @ViktorG assessment.

For starters, I bet you have knock, pulling a lot of timing and your environmentals and a/f ratios are off. None are solved with a dyno if you cannot tune for it.

Do you ever feel like the truck doesn't always perform the same? Sometimes it feel sluggish?

Roots produce higher temps, requires more HP to drive and less airflow. I own both types on a number of different vehicles and prefer twin screws.

Welcome. I was slated for a Whipple but the tune never happened, even found a very nice discount for one though my installer/tuner shop.

HP Tuners has been saying "soon" for quite some time, since the release of the 2019s. I'm convinced its not happening for another year or two minimum. Other tuners rushed their product to market IMO and are dependent on third party services for calibration/features. I'll consider a tune as more tuner options become available.

When you get a chance read the Harrop tech paper (love letter) regarding this particular untuned blower. It convinced me and a few others to pull the trigger on an install.

So far no issues except for leaving skid marks on the streets and in my pants.

I test drove an ecodiesel before i bought my tundra....that thing is SLOWWWWW off the line. If he has it tuned, may be a different story....but supercharged, its a done deal. no chance for him.

edit: saw your other post about the mods he's done....he might have a chance

HPT secretly rolls out stuff because now I hear that my 4runner has some support (I will know in a few days when I test it for myself).

It sounds fun to drive. My older brother was sorta a pioneer in all these boosted fuel injected trucks. These old timers have crazy rigs that really keep to themselves now (I laugh old timers cause most of them are late 30's to early 50's). I wish Harrop would offer a limited powertrain warranty (for a little bit like maggie). I have not had the best experience with aussie companies (not Harrop) regarding my 80. I think you guys will be fine. I have this long list of upgrades that I will slowly chip away at and hope HPtuners opens tuning. In a week or 2, I will install the bed stiffener and the trans cooler. Slowly I will make my pro more of my overlander.
