On another post, someone said that the SR trims were getting the smaller tank and anything SR5 and above got the 32 gallon. Not sure where that info came from and not sure why they would create a smaller tank for what is probably the least sold truck unless it was just a way to boost their payload numbers up.

 

I’m not sure if much of anything can be confirmed yet but I have watched multiple videos that say the hybrid is getting a 22 gallon tank.

I watched that and found no mention of the hybrid getting a smaller fuel tank. Perhaps I missed it.

 

Man if they only offer the 22 gal for the SR5 that would be a bummer for me. Hoping the SR5 with 6.5ft bed gets the 32gal.

 

Uneducated guess but the SR5 represents probably more than 25% of Tundra market share. Probably over 50% just pulling a number out of my butt.

With that SWAG in mind I don’t think Toyota is going to stick every SR or SR5 buyer with a tiny fuel tank. Well maybe SR buyers since there will be like 5 of them a year…. I predict that the base SR5 with no options is getting the 22.5 gallon tank, and if a customer wants the larger 32.2 gallon tank they’re going to have to step up to an option package to get it.

 

I can't imagine the higher priced hybrid models getting handicapped fuel tank size, that would nearly offset the actual upselling of the hybrid. At least have it as an option or that would be absurd. Powerboost is the only true competitor to this vehicle at the moment and EVERY single positive review mentions the available range. I guarantee Toyota notices this.
