Damn, I need to vent today.

Told by my oral surgeon's office that botox will NOT be covered for TMJ because Unitedhealth won't allow a buy/bill by the hospital. You can only buy the drug through Optum Specialty Pharmacy which is owned by UnitedHealth and thats not how the hospital works. :censored:

Must've spent 3 hours on the phone going back and forth only to confirm what few Unitedhealth administrators knew anything about. :argue:

Currently waiting on a supervisor to see what I can do to appeal if its even possible since I have no notification of the buy contingency.

To complicate things I have only 4 oral surgeons on my plan who administer botox for TMJ as many are getting away from it due to the cost. FML :annoyed:

Which running boards are those? do you like? I like the look of my n-fabs but am getting tired of returning them for the rust under warranty. eventually the mounting bolts are going to be fucked from the on and off.

Am I allowed in this super secret thread...................................?

I have no idea for sure what the running boards are. They were on the truck when I bought it and based on who the previous owner was, I'm fairly certain they're OEM or at least installed by the dealership. There are no markings on them at all.

For OEM, click the link in my signature. My truck is AC and yours is DC, but generally speaking, the part should look roughly the same if OEM generally speaking.

Granted, I can't recall OTOMH seeing a DC with my style of running board, except maybe on one truck I looked at during my search a few years back. Usually I see them with the tube step system the AC trucks also use. I'd considered trying to get one of those for my truck, actually. But I think I like my boards more than the tubes.

If they're gonna show rust within a 6-12 months I may as well have a guy in town custom make them and really like them. I like the style of mine just not the size of step and sending them back all the time. But then again this is all i've ever had for steps so who knows maybe I'd like something less "fake rock-slidery" lol. Maybe I'll just do that, get sliders. Wish we had the option for the raptor style Tacos can get. They have a nice big foot pad.

Dealing with insurance and medical billing is reason enough for me to avoid the Dr & DDS outside regular checkups/cleanings.
Everything is a GD circus and you're always left holding the bill.

Even just a regular dental cleaning can be a PIA.

Went to a chain dentist place last year for the 2nd time and got turned down for a cleaning because they needed me to use my benefit for a full set of mouth x-rays which only occurs once every 5 years. I told them I'd do the yearly bite wings, but that wasn't good enough according to them.

Haven't gone back since even though the district manager called to apologize on her behlaf.

Yeah, I find with dentists that I tend to like the older guys who have their own practice. Those mega-dentists have one objective: money.

The old school dentists care for their patients and their individual reputation. Plus, they paid their student loans off long ago, so they aren't worried about paying for those AND living the big Dr. life.

I've watched two truck forums fall to pieces in the last 20 years over the same stuff they hand out vacations for here. I guess maybe it's annoying, until you watch your little corner of the internet implode over the same BS that causes rifts at a family reunion. Granted, in my family, talking about Ferds could get you blacklisted or blacked out on your ass pretty quick too. :D

Edit: Apparently such a FFA forum doesn't exist on Tundras.com (yet)

Is…is this the thread? @mods can we have this one to bend the rules a little? Its in the first gen section. We’re a little thicker skinned than people who replace trucks instead of fix ‘em.

I think for technical and practical reasons they'd need to keep the volatile barrage it in its own subforum.

If they let one thread inside the 1st gen forum be a 'free for all', too many people are going to think it's OK to act that way for every thread in the 1st gen forum except the locals in-the-know.

Just think about how many people come here and can't be bothered to search for info that's sometimes stuck to the top of the forum, or even the very top thread in the forum. Those are the ones who'll just assume it's status quo.

By channeling all that volatile chatter into the [edit] one subforum, I suspect they could "hide" those threads from popping up on the homepage as long as they're in that one subforum, again to avoid confusion, and more-easily moderate content.

I'll just say it, as a former moderator at other places: The folks who moderate at forums like this often DO NOT get paid. It's typically a thankless job, done for free, where many members think it's perfectly OK to shit on every decision you make.

Be excited they offer one no-holds-barred forum. Would it be more convenient if it were here, on this thread, in our special little place? Sure. But there's more to it than that.
