Yes - for some of us today IS friday.

And yes, I realize this is 19 pages behind. Story of my life, but it's still friday.

I liked this post because of the word 'rad'. When I read 'rad', though, I got disappointed there wasn't a guy in parachute pants and high-tops in the pic.

Damn dude, broke your femur right in half. Is the nail still in or were they able to take it out after it healed?

    Compound fracture.
If it hadn’t broken, the impact would have destroyed my hip.

Still have it all riding along.
The stuff in my wrist needs to come out badly.
It is an excellent weather predictor, but it hurts pretty much 24/7.

I have a pin in my right leg from when I was hit by a car when I was a kid.

Fortunately (or maybe unfortunately) titanium doesn't set off airport metal detectors.

Fortunately, it doesn’t on the newer models.
Unfortunately, a number courthouses have older technologies and some of them go nuts.

At times, at the airport, when I get a full body scan...
I get weird looks and “Damn, bro”.

Yeah I’d get that hardware out then. Probably will still hurt some though. Care to share how you shattered your femur? Has ortho said it can stay like that without a revision at some point?

    Femur stuff will stay.

Ortho would not remove wrist stuff until I stopped racing motorcycles.
    By then he had retired.
No one else wants to mess with it.
The joint was completely rebuilt with cadaver bone.
    The impact was intense.
Then I re-broke it, pulling out screws and bending the first plate, requiring a larger plate and more screws.

The femur... A released felon, on parole had just robbed the Post Office Downtown and was fleeing from the police.

I just locked up my office and was about to hit the interstate in two blocks.

At the next intersection, the guy fleeing from Birmingham Police and Federal Marshals, came in the wrong direction, in the turn lane, and hit me head on running approximately, 90 mph.
Never had time to take my foot off the gas.

    He was driving a 1992 Ford F-250.
He literally floored it before hitting me.
I can still hear the exhaust tone like it just happened.

I was in a Dodge Nitro.
The only year I didn’t have a truck as my company vehicle.

Also, fractured my right wrist, fractured 3 ribs on the right, 2 ribs on the left, broke my right collarbone and fractured my sternum.
The airbag left 2nd degree burns on my face.

    fun times.

    Kinda.
He made it about 20 yards on foot before being tackled.

I was just trying to figure out how in the world all those police got to my accident so quickly.
