I think this is a huge determining factor.
The amount of damage being PTed.

I wish we had more GW stories from his younger years.
You know he was knocking heads as a teenager.

Plus the amount of nerve endings impacted by the surgery or accident makes a huge difference. When I got a vertebrae removed, I felt nothing but relief from pain (spinal pinch, sciatica)
PT was just learning to stand, walk, move and build strength, very little pain.

My knee was jacked up but the pain of therapy wasn't bad. The shoulder sucks, when it was in bad shape I'd end up in tears most seasons from the pain. But I got mobility and strength back and I've kept it from reverting so I think it was worth it.

I remember the first pic you sent me.
You were holding a beautiful knife with your damaged hand.
I thought, Ray did something bad to that hand.

I was in a head on collision in 7th grade. My knee hit both center console and dash. Avoided surgery but it felt like a knife was jabbed into the side of my knee for a while. Fun times

I do like the newer metal detectors at airports, I no longer set them off. This took a while to recover from. Caused by genetics, no fun story

I use to tell them before I'd walk thru. They would still pull me to the side and give me a good pat down and check me with the wand
