Hmmm, I have a Michelin Defender tire set on the '11 Tundra I'm driving - had it for a year or so now. 20,000 miles on the tires. They are fairly noisy - lots of tread, but noiser than the LTX/2's I had before. I wonder if it's these?
Update: - no, these are different than what I have...

    This is what I have - https://thetirereviews.com/michelin-defender-ltx-m-s-review/

Is that the tire pre-AT/2? I assumed/hoped that we might see a more winter-worthy replacement for the AT/2 that came on my truck.

I will say, in comparison to the AT/2s, the WildPeak 3's are supposed to be very good. I almost purchased them for my truck, after a great deal of research. The only tire I would have preferred more than the WildPeak's would be the Continental Grabber ATX

I’m excited to see some reviews on this tire. I’ve had great luck with Michelin in the past and they end up on most my vehicles.

Most importantly can I put 35's on a stock 2022 tundra? What lift will I get out of Bilstein 5100 in middle setting?

I get 90,000 miles out of Nitto Terra Grapplers and WildPeak at/3's but I do 70% highway miles.

Yeah for some reason Google didn’t consult the RM maps either, how does a guy figure out whose field that big whitetail headed into? ;)

I thought this might be interesting:

    7. PRIZE: ONE (1) GRAND PRIZE: A 2022 Toyota Tundra Limited CrewMax with TRD Off-Road Package (Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price ("MSRP") of vehicle not to exceed=$56,500) ("Prize Vehicle").

I went to toyota.com and configured a 2021 CrewMax Limited (Premium) with the TRD Off-Road Package and it came out to MSRP of $50,505.

I’m curious, how many of you guys who refuse to give up your V8 would reconsider buying a Gen 3 if they made a diesel?

Ford had virtually the same situation with their 3.0 Powerstroke and 3.5 TT. They barely sold any diesels and cancelled them for 2022. The 3.5 TT is an upgrade over the 5.0 V8 and outsells it as well. Toyota made the right move if going off customer preferences.

    Unfortunately, I agree with you.

I would prefer a V8, even though driving around my 2012 Legacy GT was an absolute blast. It was, however, a manual in which I could absolutely control the gears. Not just give a small request to the computer as to which gear I would like to use.

Obviously, I haven't yet driven this new truck with it's new powertrain. I imagine it will be solid, and perform very well.

Let me hear those turbos spool and the blow off valve hiss and I will forget that I don't have the rumble I so enjoy.....well, I will forgive it not being there at least, lol.

Diesel will always hold a special place in my heart. However, the romance has been over for a while now. It used to be that diesel was MUCH cheaper than gasoline (by around $1.00 or more a gallon) and you got about 40% more MPGs. Diesel was simpler so you had more reliability with the only cost being more oil (with less frequent changes) and higher maintenance costs. You also got MUCH more power and MUCH more longevity.

You have none of that now. Blame the EPA or whomever but they reformulated the fuel and since 2006 it contains less energy to you only get 25% to 30% more MPG (if that). Because of the more stringent refining requirements the cost went up. For a while it was a dollar MORE a gallon. It has settled in to around the cost of mid grade or premium in most areas but it's no longer cheaper. The complexity increased exponentially so your longevity and reliability have been reduced where your maintenance costs are the same or higher. They added the DEF system as well which adds even more to the cost and complexity. You still get more power but it's not as impressive when you compare it to the improvements they've made on the gasoline side.

Diesel is still the way to go for 3/4 ton and above (especially if you tow big and often) but aside from chasing that old gal to reminisce, the romance is bland and not worth the added cost and trouble. Yes, you're still getting something but you're getting less and paying more.

So like what's her face says (Anna, Ella, whatever) --- LET IT GO. :D

Ford cancelled them, but GMs was a better product (until it started having issues) and they were planning on doubling down on diesel. They sold quite a few. Seems almost like it was a stop gap for not having a hybrid powertrain. Ford’s was really a Land Rover engine from back when they owned LR.

Does it come with a chuck box, or do I have to build my own?
    Canvas cover, Conestoga style?
How much feed for my mule team can it hold? Better give me the numbers after my own provisions and not give inflated numbers like the did on the Oregon Trail Edition.

I think the small screen still gets Nav.

Look at the icon on the top of the small screen here.

    upload_2021-9-27_23-33-53.jpg

Then compare it to the pic of the large screen on navigation. It's the same icon highlighted in blue to show it is selected.

Probably, but that's also where your wireless charger is, so be careful what you put there in general.

lol i still use my 7" garmin for any trips outside the state. when i go visit my mom in GA from ND, i always use the same route but the convenience of the garmin helps to remind me of the turn offs and the correct lane to be in miles before turning off, especially in bigger cities where traffic can get a little congested. the heads up is really nice when pulling a trailer as it gives me way enough time to move over instead of trying to rush during traffic.

Do they even make Nalgenes anymore? They were all the rage in college, but that was 17 years ago now. It's all about the Yeti's and Hydroflasks nowadays.
