Finally doing it, I’m finally doing something again.

About to start on the exhaust bolts. Removed the Cat, steering column and UCA to maximize space. Wish me luck

That's a nice bit of acreage right there. Pics if it happens. The wife and I go back and forth over joining her family in farming all the time. I keep telling her it isn't getting better anytime soon so might as well grow your own food and trade with others that do the same.

 

I’ll send once escrow closes. Beautiful area but County is one of the more strict of Cali. I want to do aquaponic vertical farming. Yeilds almost 100x vs reg farming and no need for pesticides

In the first post, did you mean steering rack instead of steering column?

 

Wanted to come back to this cause what you said hit close to home. I can only imagine what things will be like in 5 yrs or so. Asked myself, do I want to be in this rat race for my entire life or get out and live a full life away from the rats lol.

 

Had to Google wobble socket, the ones I saw were way fancier than what I used but overall yes, one of those wobble things and an extension.

Didn’t remove the steering rack and now I recall the steering column is inside. I removed the one pipe that connect the steering column to the steering rack. Remember that part that threw off both our steering wheels? That part

But you'll have headers at least! I think one of manifolds is leaking. Not sure I can take one off without replacing both with something else. It would be tempting anyway.

All done buddy. Got the passenger side done yesterday. I tried to remove the manifold without removing anything else at first. Was able to remove but to put the header in I had to remove the CAT. Easy enough.


I only drove around the block so can’t say much for performance besides my tires chirped a couple times on turns without me trying to. Also have this whistling type of sound almost like what a SC makes. Think that has more to do with the TRD filter maybe. Remember a faint whistle when the filter went in and now it’s louder.

 

What brand gaskets did you end up using on the heads ?

 

Percy cable gaskets. Followed PMH’s lead on the gaskets.

It's strange how intake/ exhaust changes can change harmonics. I did my helmholtz resonator and my intake started to whistle. I took it off and the whistle went away. So the ribbed intake tubing only whistles when my helmholtz is installed. Crazy stuff.
The helmholtz stays on by the way. My exhaust has basically no drone.

 

Nice, I have a resonator as well. Had a bit of drone when I put on the Gibson Muffler and it was right at cruising RPMs. Have next to no drone, still a bit but not overwhelming.
