Man, I just pray the 2022 comes with a 50 gal tank so I can finally fill to 38 gal.

Henny Youngman reference, literally words never used on Tundras.com before. 98% of readers just looked at their computer like a dog looks at fruit. Loved it but just showed my age.

Well look at like this. Every now and then people learn something that they had no intention of learning.
Now, they are more worldly and if they choose to WIKI Henny, they will be pleasantly surprised at one of the true funny guys ever.

Allright, I just went all the way...

I ran out of gas, put 2 gallons in, drove 1.8 miles to the gas station and filled up. Actually, filled up 1.5 times if you can believe it. I hit the $100 dollar mark and had to run my card again to put in an additional... $43.52. For those of you not wanting to do the math that's:

One hundred forty three f'ing dollars and fifty two cents!!!! Can you believe that shit!?!?!?

Total gallon uptake: 35.271. So, with the 2 gallons I added earlier that's just under our 38 gallon size.

But... and I am really pissed about this, I didn't really pay attention to my mileage when my light came on. I am guessing it was 100-120 miles after the light.

Normally, and this seems to be common, I hit about 30 gallons after my light comes on and the truck tells me I am usually around 13mpg per tank so 100 miles or so after the light comes on sounds about right.

PS. I live in Denver, mid-grade at the station I filled up is $4.069/gal

    Hero.

Good data on when your fuel light comes on. That is pretty close to mine. Roughly 6-8 gallons remain when that light comes on.

Just re read this thread. Guys, why temp Satan on seeing how close you can cut it.
Your not gonna get any kind of medal for it but you will have the nice time of walking / hitch hiking / whatever to get a small amount of gas back into your rigs if Satan wins, which he does a lot.

Gas in Ca. is $5.00. Long trips will be a burden. I fill my 2020 about every 45 days and only drive near home, no commuting or long range trips. Driving to Yellowstone from the Bay area and back would be about $1000 in fuel. I may be dating myself but I remember gas @ $0.32 a gallon and cigs were $0.45 a pack. Change needs to happen before it will get better. To much tax and giving $$$$$ away.

We're paying the equivalent of $5.81 a gallon here and I do the opposite. Only long highway trips with the truck where I can get the best fuel economy and only if I need to haul something.

I remember way back when I was the night manager at our Chevron station back in the 70s.
We actually did work on anyone's car and on Friday nights, the kids, including me, would fill up with Chevron custom supreme.
That stuff looked like grape juice, smelled like gas should and could make anything run an sound great.
.75 cents a gallon and we thought that was a lot.

I’m in Australia and we are paying $1.50 a litre for 91 octane ,it’s $1.79 for 98 premium fuel
I’m way over $100 to fill up and I only have the 100 litre tank but can never get more than 80 litres in

Over here, we don't have access to 98 octane unless we are buying race gas for off road applications....hehehe

After LOW FUEL is displayed (0 miles left) I’ve driven 40 miles thereafter max. Max fill ups are usually 32 gallons. False advertisement

It's not false advertising. The volume of the tank is 38 gallons.

Even with the 38 gallon tank that is reported empty at 30 gallons, I REALLY enjoy not having to stop at gas stations as often. On a highway trip I can go 500 miles if my wife's bladder can handle it. Commuting to work, I no longer have to fill up every week, more like every 1 1/2 to 2 weeks.

    Read my post, #482.

You can't trust the DTE at all. Only the low fuel warning light is somewhat accurate. When it goes off, you'll have roughly ~6-7 gallons remaining. It's up to you at that point to calculate your range to empty based on your current MPG whether its city, highway, or towing a trailer.

In post #492, Grateful Dean ran his truck out of gas and confirmed when refilled that the tank capacity is 38 gallons.

I have spent $210 in fuel in the last week. Went camping this weekend and it was total of 450 miles round trip. At 15mpg this is getting damn expensive!

Sadly, it will only have a 32 gal tank. The Toyota Tundra said that in the video with TFL.

A while back on a trip I had no option but to push my tank to the limit. When I made it to a gas station it took 34 gallons. That's by far the most I've ever needed.

But, if they equipped the new truck with an external fuel pump, it may have more usable capacity.

Good point. Plus with the new truck being a hybrid, it should get better MPG so maybe we don't need the larger tank.

Because the weight of a full tank of fuel is used in the payload capacity calculation of the vehicle. This is one trick they used to increase payload.

Here one for the tanks from what I can tell they are only 34 gal at the most not 38. No reserve just 34 gal reasoning is I only run my tank down to half and every time it only takes 17 gals every time I'm not a mathematician but 17 and 17 does not come to 38 my truck is new with less than 2000 miles and unless my gauge is way off I paid for 38 and got 34 this would a good one for a Toyota Tec to explain.
