Found: Ironman 4x4 America, Bought and shipped already!

    Hey everyone,

Trying to get prepared for an overlanding trip in early November. I want want install full skids and sliders before I go. Problem is everyone has a long lead time. I'm not interested in waiting months, I need something that's in stock now. Looking to purchase in 3 days. Any leads? PM is fine as well.

    Thanks!!!

SDHQ was pretty quick. I ordered in July and they showed up less than a week later.

Thanks for the leads. Talon is out of stock, skid plates at SDHQ all mention extended lead time, but their sliders just might be in stock, I'll call Monday to ask.

Sdhq is checking on lead times.

If I buy a stock trd pro skid on ebay, will it be compatible with other skids as well? That would at least get me coverage for the oil pan, though I need some darn sliders or I might have to cancel my trip.

I would have a welder fabricate some if you aren't able. Personally, I am going to fabricate my own by running 4" channel Iron, channel facing down from one side to the other so I can also protect converters and trans at the same time. Weld a plate on top of front channel for transmission and a expanded metal screen on rear channel for the converters. Then add 3" x 1/4" equal leg angle as the sliders/steps. My current step tubes will simply bolt directly on top of the angle. So, the truck will actually be sliding on the edge of the angle 3" below the bottom of the step tube. Plus I will have great t-bone protection and the entire frame will be stiffened.

Thank you. Not sure if that's an option but I'll ask around.

Probably buying the trd pro skid plate since nobody else has one in stock.

Skids are taken care of, had some leads on sliders and they fell through, other than driving from Texas to California to have a set installed which I can't do.

    Anyone else?

Hit some industrial machine shops in your area and ask them to fabricate you a set. A trailer builder or repair place would also be a safe bet to try.

I second just asking a local fab shop to make you some, odds are it isn't their first pair and it'll be cheaper. I got a quote from a shop near me to make some for only $700 and is every bit as good as any other. SDHQ is way overpriced although a good product.

Thanks. Sdhq never returned to me with lead times after the hassle of holding for a ton of time so I stopped considering them.

The problem is I live in a small truck stop town, we have a couple of ranch welder type shops I'll check with, but I fear I'd end up with a crappy cold rolled steel pipe slider set even though if ask for DOM. No pipe benders.

El paso is a couple hours drive. I'll start researching for shops there that can help me out, and I'll ask around at work.
And just in case I'll continue my search to find a set in stock.

Call @Caliraisedled and see if they are doing a run any time soon, or if they have some laying around. They’re based in Fort Worth and if you’re in Texas you can pick them up.

Hey, How are you liking the Ironman sliders? I was thinking of getting some and just curious on your thoughts and pros and cons. Easy to install?

Haven't installed them yet, and they literally don't have instructions for them. Like, figure it out on your own is the instructions. Supposedly they will make a YouTube video soon showing the install, but still haven't seen it. So immediately was turned off by the "figure it out" approach. The skids didn't come with instructions either, but they at least had an instructional page to email me.

Sliders shouldn't be too difficult since they claim no drilling, but with 30 sets of fasteners, I haven't attempted it yet. Have to get them installed the next few days so I'll follow up afterwards.

So, not super impressed with the company to start out, and TBD if the pieces are up to par, they seem well made, though.

Hm, okay well I just ordered them so lets hope they are good! I will very much be looking forward to your thoughts on them, I smashed my factory side steps up into the body of my truck this summer and would prefer that never to happen again. I also wanted a good jack point for a hi-lift

Hey did you get them installed? Or could you send the instructions you got from them? I’m super confused it’s just a giant bag of bolts with no guidance at all. Thanks so much for any help!!

    Not sure at this point.
Lol that’s nothing. WKOR sliders were almost 12 weeks+.

Unless if you really need it this very weekend, you’re going to have to see some long lead times regardless.

No instructions are available, and they aren't bolt on with newer tundras, frame needs to be drilled. I haven't installed them yet.

Okay got the Ironman sliders on! It really wasn’t bad they bolted right up without much drama. Good quality and I like the look for the price and ease of installation. Yes if you want to use all of the provided bolts and hardware you will have to drill some holes in the frame for upwards bolts. Otherwise I got probably 6 bolts in on each side without drilling and it feels solid. Happy to answer any questions but overall it was easier than I expected

I wonder what the frame differences are with 21 models, I could only get 3 bolts on each side

Yea I’m not sure, I would think it’s exactly the same as my 2015? I did have them on the wrong side at first but I could barely line up any when I did that. Did you have it too far forwards or backwards? I had to remove a few brackets in the rear of the drivers side and then you reuse the bolts you remove from the brackets for mounting the sliders. They provide a couple small bolts and nuts for the same spot on the passenger side as it’s not threaded holes like the DS.
