My daughter got a pure white kitten with different colored eyes when she was 5. We were told it was a "she" so my daughter named her "Lovey." Turns out she was a he. I called him "Louie" but it didn't really matter, he was deaf so he didn't give a shit.

 

I always liked the thought of them playing "Send Me On My Way" by Rusted Root. Everybody getting up (all three of the people that'll give a shit) and dancing out of the church, New Orleans style. My stepdaughter said I ruined the song for her by telling her that and now every time she hears it, she cries. She hasn't said if they are tears of joy...

When my youngest daughter got married it was the same day that some preacher in Texas said the world was going to end. During the reception. I asked the DJ to play The End of the World by REM. At the end of my speech I said to my SIL, no matter what, the world as you know it has ended.

Here's my old margarita recipe from my Mixology days. I got a standing ovation for these at a Country Club in Northern Michigan. The group of people said they'd traveled all over the world and my margaritas were the best they had. They may have been a little drunk.

Joel's X-tra Tasty Margaritas
2 oz Cuervo Gold (this was the mid 1990's)
1/2 oz Cointreau or Grand Marnier (or a high end Triple Sec)
1/2 oz Roses Lime Juice
2 oz Sour Mix

Blend or shake with ice and pour into a salted Veno glass.

 

Skirt Grease Margarita
2oz El Padrino Anejo
1oz Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur
1oz fresh lime juice
1 -2 Tbsp Agave Nectar (sweeter or sourer)
Shake over ice, pour into salted-rim glass, turn on Barry White, have a great night.
