I’ll Like your post and raise it a Me Too. I hate myself when I do the things on the road that also drive me nuts. We all have things to work on.

I never know what to do in those scenarios. Usually it looks like the other guy is gunning it so I'll brake then he'll brake at the last second and I'll have to go WOT.

Of course, the only time there's someone in the left lane is when I'm trying to let someone merge. :frusty:

Done it. pulled out at a stop sign I stop at every day and look to see someone dead on my ass. Did I just pull out in front of them, did I look? I don't remember if I even looked.

Isn’t there a maintenance thread in each sub-forum? :notsure:

Public land closures, such as the CA forests due to fire risk. It doesn't make me angry, just a minor inconvenience and I understand why it has to be done.

What actually makes me angry with public land closures is the people that ignore these closures and tear down tape, signs, etc. People around here love to enjoy our public lands but do not respect them at all. These are the same people that don't follow LNT and don't understand why they add gates and close off areas permanently due to people destroying them.

I had a vacation planned in the forest and had to change my plans recently because of the closure. It was a bummer, yeah, but I was set on finding an alternative vacation not in the forest. I got a reservation at a private campground that borders a forest day use area. People were blowing through the sign and caution tape all day until an officer came. Then when the officer parked to block the entrance, most would just turn around but some people would get out and argue with the officer about their so-called "right" to enter "their" land.

It just bums me out that there are people that can't adhere to this type of stuff. I understand that it's frustrating to not be able to recreate but it's well publicized it's closed. Know before you go.

Also people that camp directly behind "no camping" signs. If you do this, you're a POS.

Dealing with that up here. Half the state closed all public ground. Open fire ban across the state. Still saw tons of camp fires. No one cares. It's frustrating. I am sure the WEsT side of the state had an influx of these idiots go to their side of the state since it was still open. To many narcissistic people that think they can't be inconvenienced with anything.

My brother works in the forestry industry and people will pull down the gates his company puts up across their roads just to see what's beyond them.

I've heard of locals here taking it into their own hands and doing fire patrols driving around with water to put out random peoples' forest camp fires. A bit ballsy if you ask me, but I don't blame them for wanting to mitigate any risk to their property.

I stayed at a camp spot this summer. People were asked multiple times to put their fires out. Finally the grounds keeper for the private property took fire extinguishers to them all. They bitched and wanted money back for camping there and wanted to leave. He told them no. You register to camp on line and it clearly states no fires due to the state ban. Our camp site cheered him on!

We camped at Timothy Lake a few weeks back and the camp host came over when we were setting up and reminded us no fires. I said yep. She said, again, no fires. I said yep, again. She then said look me in the eyes and tell me you will not have a fire. I did. She then explained she went through the exact thing the day before and some jack hole lit a fire anyway.

We need to get one of those propane fire pits I guess. Camping without a fire sucks.

What made me angry though was she said no BB Guns. What! Nope, could start a fire and no projectiles allowed. She said it was the rules and actually called the sheriff on her phone and over speak the sheriff said no BB Guns! I asked then why are you allowing grouse hunting in the area. Said that was up to DFW and not the Forest Service. Good grief.

I invested in one to use since they're legal on USFS land here while fires are not. It's definitely been nice; I'm like you and need some sort of fire for ambience at least.

New member intro posts that aren't an intro. Just a question they want answered. It irritates me on 2 fronts. First, they are showing that they have no interest in joining the community, and are only hear to get their question answered. After an answer they'll never be seen again. Second, they get a flood of "welcome" posts that don't address their question or encourage them to join the community.

Also, when a new member posts a NON intro post asking a question (proper way to do it) and they get a flood of "welcome" posts because people see it's their first post. It's not an intro, don't bombard them with welcomes. If they wanted that, they would have made an intro post.

I have a different opinion of these situations, at least partially. There are a lot of people that just don't understand forum etiquette. I had to learn, as did everyone else. They are just looking for answers. When they get a bunch of welcomes, ESPECIALLY if a couple of those welcomes help to direct them to the proper place on the site to ask their question, or just give some advice, it lets them know that we are more than just a question/answer source. It shows them that we are a community where they are welcome. If they hang around, great. If not, maybe they'll remember us when they or someone else is looking for answers.

The other situation is no different to me. They have found the right place to ask the question, but being welcomed also lets them know that we are a community that they may want to stick around in.

Just my $0.02, which, 100 years ago, was approximately equivalent to a dollar today.

Not sure if your quote of his post will condemn him even if he edits it... I sent him a PM with a heads up so there wouldn't be a marker in the thread to get a ban over it.

    Know what makes me angry?

People joining a club/site/team….etc and not reading the rules before starting. Could you imagine a football team that had a couple teammates that were following baseball rules? That would be more screwed up than a football bat.

Since we are on the topic of FNGs, it drives me nuts when one joins and promptly resurrects an old thread to ask a question that was already answered in the thread.

I keep getting documentation for a project in an area I don't support despite asking the project engineer to send it to my colleague who's responsible for that area multiple times.
