I’m not a fan of chrome normally. I have 4 motorcycles and want as little chrome as possible on them. That being said, I think the 1794 is the best looking version. In fact I think the 1794 from all the YouTube videos would have looked better without the TRD package. I’m not sure. I guess I’ll wait to see them in person.

I think if you went with noTRD off-road package than the whole grill will be all chrome!!!:annoyed:

I would assume they would take that into consideration when designing those systems.

The reason I bring it up is because of this video. It has some very interesting info and according to the study, a justification for having start stop. Its really surprising how much fuel you waste during idle and how little it takes to start an engine.

That's pretty good considering it has the hybrid batteries and moonroof! the numbers shown on the chart sounds closer than peeps are saying.

Depends on the car. It’s not noticeable on my Acura. Super smooth. I don’t notice it’s off or when it comes back on. On my wife’s Tiguan it’s super clunky. Really jerky and you can tell a difference in the AC running.

Well that has nothing to do with what I said at all and sure does not change my mind about the feature in the least,I am stating that for me it is a no go feature whether it wastes fuel or not.
Just another Green option I am happy to opt out of.

Oh and no video that I see in your reply?

An important thing to note is that none of what you see in there can be applied for USA models. Canada always gets different features on the same trim, and missing features too.

I think most of them don't shut off if you're running the AC.

I could see a use for it on my previous commute where I always had to sit at two long red lights but those were the only stops I had to make. On my current commute, I have to stop to turn off of or onto the highway so I don't want it shutting off for a few seconds then restarting when I'm trying to turn in a gap in traffic.

Every one that I have driven shuts off regardless but they also keep the AC running while shut off sort of like the Prius but for no reason that is good to me!

I wonder what this is about. Do our friends up north get the hybrid option on SR5s?

This truck is sweet. I can’t wait to trade my 17 even though it’s been a solid truck. My decision will come down to the Platinum, 1794 or PRO. But, I want that almost 600 FT lbs of torque.
One thing I’ve decided is that I am going to leave it about as stock as I can save for some minor MODs.

well i would have to disagree there since my 2014 4runner limited is going on almost 8yrs without any issues. only thing ive done is 10k oil changes, and at the 80k mark replaced the 3 diffs fluid and had the cooling system chemical flushed. at 100k if i still have it once the 6th gen comes out in fall of 22, i would be doing the brake fluid, spark plugs and transmission fluid.

heck i am still on my oem brake pads and they are only about 1/2 worn.

nope. platinum is just straight up luxury version of the tundra. 1794 would be the exact same as the platinum buy you can get the off road pkg.

thats if you can get over the interior color which we couldnt in the 2nd gen or this new 3rd gen.

also the chrome on the 1794 just kills us and the mismatch exterior stuff just puts us off in our opinion

edit : ie, the off road rims just doesnt look right on a 1794 with all that chrome, the wheel arches dont fit either or the front grille with the TRD logo on it with all that chrome.

Well dang. Sure hope they offer HUD in the Limited then because the 1794 is not my cup of tea.

think HUD is only plat/1794. but no one went into depth on which models get HUD so its still up in the air until toyota updates the website with configs.

    A bunch
I find the auto start stop makes you want to do rolling stops all the time, I find if you barely press the brake enough to keep you stopped but any less and you roll it doesn't shut off. So it's like a game to keep the engine going. I just really don't like the delay from coming off the brake before you can go. On the hybrid model this is negated with the electric engine. With the hybrid I wouldn't disengage it permanently, but the base V6TT I would.

Has the exterior and interior dimensions been posted? Eager to find out since the extra 4 inches the new gen trucks have moved to (f150, ram) is a bit too much for my driveway.

The 22 TRD Pro seems pretty cheesy to me all around. Faux digital camo on the fender flares, grill, tailgate, seat covers, etc? Takes it off my list. The SR5 TRD Sport or Limited look best to me, but I'm not interested. My 2017 is paid off, and I love it. I do wish I had the 2018 (19) digital gauge cluster though.

I think the digital camo ruins it for me, too. Also think the badge on the tailgate is a bit much (for my taste) - the "TUNDRA" is solid enough!
