Just seeing the new Tundra has sold me on the 2023 Sequoia. If it has the same drivetrain and interior, and is at or over 20mpg combined driving, just take my money. I’ll buy the first one I can. I can’t wait to get rid of our rattling, finicky, frustrating to work on, oil-guzzling Yukon XL.
I still really like my truck. Last of the insanely long-running, dependable 2nd gens. I only have 15k miles on it, and it’s close to paid off.

‘21 Tundra and a ‘23 Sequoia. Bring it. :headbang:
    :spending::spending:

EDIT: No no no no no. I do not want this vehicle. What in the world were they thinking?! Front end looks nice. But I'm one of those rare people who doesn't buy vehicles to be seen in them. No unlocked 4hi, no roll-down rear window, less cargo space than a 5th gen 4Runner (seriously, look it up). HARD PASS.

I sold the Yukon and bought an LX570 instead.

I think the 2023 Sequoia will be bad ass. What trim level and color are you thinking?

I was just thinking about what the new squaw would look like, or powertrain underneath. Saw this thread, and just knew someone was reading my brain waves from orbit.

The upcoming upgrades to Toyota trucks/SUVs is going to be worth watching the next few years. The Sequoia is going to be killer.

I tend to favor buying a lower trim level and building it out how I want it, but I won’t be the primary driver on this one. My wife likes leather seats and doesn’t mind a bit of chrome, so probably a Limited. I’m not sure on the color; she has always favored less trendy colors. As long as it’s not black.

Man I hope it has more cargo room than the 2nd gen when the 3rd row is in use. That’s my only concern. The lack of cargo space in the current Tree is why I couldn’t get her in one when we were last shopping for a vehicle for her. With three kids and captains chairs in the 2nd row, we’d have to use at least half the third row at all times.

23 Tree is gonna be legit. I like to think that it’ll be a perfect replacement for the LC here in the US of A.

We’ll probably still get it. I’ll just have to convince my wife to take less stuff for the kids on trips. Or maybe there will be a 2nd row bench option. She’s been stranded a few times by simple electrical issues in her Yukon and is frustrated with it, too.

It will definitely have a 2nd row bench, then you will have a ton of storage space in the back.

When I've talked ti multiple dealers, I've been told 2024 or even possibly 2025 for the sequoia. That was the nail in the coffin for me to go ahead and get my 2021 sequoia

I think it’s all but guaranteed that it will come out in 2023. The 2022 Tundra thread showed us that lots of our dealer friends or Toyota sales guy was drastically wrong about something. The leaked new model rollout from Toyota corporate showed that the Sequoia is coming in 2023. Historically, this makes perfect sense as the 1st and 2nd gen Sequoias were released the year following the 1st and 2nd gen Tundras respectively.

I'm at the dealer right now getting my Tundra serviced. Talking to a sales guy, Sequoia production is going to severally limited for the near future. He's also skeptical that the "new" Sequoia will actually make an appearance by 2023..

Right now they have a Lunar Rock TRD Pro on the floor with $10k market adjustment and used Sequioas on the lot all in the $60K neighborhood.

The Sequoia is actually a better rig for what I use my vehicle for, but the tiny gas tank was a deal buster for me. If Toyota puts the large tank in the next version and the engine/hybrid combo proves itself the next few years in the Tundra, I will consider one.

That's one of the biggest issues I have with my LC, the tiny ass tank gives me a maximum range of around 230 miles. That's absolutely horrible. Thankfully I don't tow far or I would really hate it.

I figured Toyota would be keeping the Sequoia the same to offload the remaining 2nd Gen :rofl:Tundra components.
Not sure how long that would take. 2, 3 more years?

Only renderings are available but it will probably look very similar to the Tundra, as previous models have. My guess is that the grill will be a little smaller and more "streamlined" look. Hopefully more like the Land Cruiser 300 grill.

I had to break down and get a roof top box, but I'm so glad I did. Tent, sleeping bags and duffel bags all fit in with ease. I'm actually surprised how much stuff will fit in a roof box and the kids don't complain about being packed in so tight they can't move :)
