I want to get everyone's thoughts on putting Bed Rug on spray in bed. Good idea or waste of money.

Good for your knees if you crawl around in there, or for a sleeping in the truck bed. Also inhibits stuff sliding around.

Good for the knees for sure but in my experience makes it only more slick back there and not grippy at all?

I'm doing it for some of the reasons mentioned above. It should be easy to remove for dirty hauls too.

I have a bedrug over my spray in Bedliner. I love it. Had it in two Tundras now, and I will do it again if I ever buy another. Bedrug saves my knees and saves furniture when I am moving stuff. Also allows me to slide boxes and suitcases forward and back in the bed without having to climb in and lift them. I also pull it out and power wash it once a year. I like the spray in Bedliner to keep the sides and wheel wells from showing all the scratches, so it makes sense to me to do both. Plus, my bedrug only cost $100 back in 2014. No reason not to get one!

Redrug for all the reasons mentioned. I never had slippage issues with the Bedrug in my 07. Quite the opposite. Will be getting a Bedrug for my 14.

    Depends on your use case.

I have the full bedrug and love it. If you get the mat version you can remove it when its not needed but it can still provide protection for the bed. Also agree it easier on the knees, the padding is fairly thick and spongey.

I put a rubber bed mat, I guess you’d call it, in my bed that has been sprayed with Line-X. I like it. No sliding, easier on knees and easy clean up.

I heard that these are stain resistant. I read somewhere, a guy had some kind of refrigerator leaks and could not remove the stains with stain removal treatments. I thought they are stain resistant.

Stain resistant, but not stain proof. Kind of like stainless steel. It can still corrode given the right factors, just less than steel.

The Bedrug material is very resilient. It can take a lot of abuse. It's breathable too. You can load rocks, bricks, paving stones, sand, gravel, mulch, firewood, etc. I'd guess a refrigerant leak wouldn't be to good on anything and......I wouldn't haul a leaky ass refrigerator anyways. Not even a new one. I currently have an OEM Tundra branded rubber mat. Tough as nails but not even remotely easy on the knees like the Bedrug.

I have the factory sprayed liner, but also bought the OEM Tundra rubber mat. Works great for me, like the rubber when moving bricks, blocks, and stones. Offers a great layer of protection against abrasions in the bed.

Love mine - well worth the cost for the mat.

Plan on eventually having a spray on liner applied. For now just the rug, no way of d consider hauling pinball/arcades without it - makes loading/unloading a breeze and when I have something for the farm eventually - just pull it out and know the Spray in liner is protecting the bed.

I just installed my bedrug on my DC this weekend, also put it over the spray in bed liner from the factory. It adhered very well. I mainly did it to be able to put items that I don’t want damaged in the bed and not worry about the spray in liner doing damage, also more comfortable for drive in movies!

I finished it off with a MX4 cover.

The OEM rubber mat like I have on my 14 is not breathable. Not much rain or rust here but I do remove the mat occasionally to check things out. No need to with the Bedrug. If it gets dirty I just spray it off in place. It's breathable so it dries out in place. I'm getting a Bedrug for my 14 I in a couple weeks and I'll put my OEM rubber mat on the Colorado Trading post for free. Won't waste my time selling it on Craigslist.

The one drawback to the bed rug, the only one, is it holds onto dog hair like you can't believe. Yellow labs are the worst, but no way I will get rid of the dogs.

A BedRug is tough but easy on the knees. My 2008 has a BedRug only but my 2020 has both. You can hose down the BedRug to wash it off. Without the spray in liner bed scratches rust. If you want long term protection then do both in my opinion.

Headed to Suburban Toppers on Friday to have mine installed. Right over my Line-X bedliner. Prepping for my cap that should be here middle of next month. Never had a bed rug before, I’m sure it’ll be awesome!

    As far as the Bedrug being slippery;
I was helping a friend of the wife's clean out her home when she sold it.
We had to run to Walmart for something that was 14 miles away (10 of them on I-30 @ 70 MPH).
When we got to Walmart I notice not only did I leave the tailgate down (when I backed into my parking spot), but I left my Dewalt impact wrench and 2 sets of bits in the tailgate.
It all stayed on the tailgate the entire trip.

I wondered why that guy on the Interstate kept eyeballing me...
Why didn't he honk or something..

having a bedrug or rubber mat over the sprayed bed is actually pretty useful since the Line-x beds is slippery and things not tied will actually end up moving around and being damaged. I ended up getting a bedmat on my previous 2008, but a bedrug would of been my option thinking about it.
