There was a game I played on the original Xbox called The Suffering, that game was pretty intense too. Probably wouldn't be as scary now because of how far we've come with graphics but it was fun back in the day.

 

Battlefield players should appreciate this. It's a whole series.

I got about 40 hrs logged in the beta. I haven't played an mmo since vanilla wow, but I foresee this becoming my main game. Play a lot of warzone and was anticipating the new battlefield buuuut this one really sucked me in

 

Quake is now available on Xbox. I’m in heaven

 

How is it so far? I grabbed it and Quake 2 for PC a couple of weeks ago on Steam, but I haven't installed them yet.

 

Funny story:

So, when I was on the USS Enterprise (I ran their tactical networks), the ATM switches were upgraded. The company literally recommended we use Quake to 'flex test' the network. LOL

Anyways, so we did. My nickname on that game was "Mr. Beautiful." There was some guy elsewhere on the ship who for some reason went by the nickname "Cyberslut." I kicked his @$$ on the regular.

Fast forward about a month when I went to work on a computer for the Army JTF (joint task force) guys. Some LTC (Lieutenant Colonel for those not aware of Army rank) was playing the game, so I asked him what his nickname was. Sure enough...he was Cyberslut.

I said "Sir, with all due respect, I kick your ass on Quake all the time!" I told him who I was and we essentially talked fake-serious sh*t for the next 30 seconds or so (e.g., "You little @$$hole! I'm gonna NJP your @$$!" LOL)

He finally reassured his fellow Army guys it was just sh*t-talk - they were literally ready to throw down with me. LOL

 

Been trying to collect every Zelda title. Have a couple inbound already and a few still to buy, but so far so good:

 

This is my wife's goal as well but I told her we're not spending money on a Switch given how little she plays her WiiU.

 

That's awesome! I still have my Game Boy Link’s Awakening that I bought new. Lol

 

Well the Switch is awesome, for sure need one of those. But I also love my Wii U. Key is to mod it and add games, ha. I have games from 10 different consoles on it, ha.

 

I’m really enjoying it. There are a whole bunch of levels that were not part of the original, or were released on a different platform that I’ve never played before.

Best $10 I’ve spent in decades

Cool! I'm about 1/2 way through Resident Evil 2 Remake (doing a complete playthrough of the series), but I think after I finish it I'll take a temporary detour and jump in. New levels sounds awesome! Thanks for the the tip!

I could definitely use a temporary break, too. RE2 Remake is keeping me on my heels. I play in a 5.2.4 Atmos setup and the game supports Atmos. I'm having a blast but I'm scared schiddtless at the same time from all the ambient noises. I tried playing lights out, but he!! no, can't do it lol.

 

Currently own 2 Xbox One S's. One in the living room, one in my son's room. Always open to more suggestions.

Any new AC games are good, I really liked Orgins. Warframe, no mans sky, dead space, control.

 

Picked up death stranding again and it's getting really good. I think the slow moving isolation is really relaxing after a long day. You still have action but you can almost plan for it so you can do it when you want to.

 

That was my wife's thought as well....but unless you've played one, I don't know that I'd use that logic. I almost never used our WiiU - the ONLY reason I used it at all is because I was able to buy and use the "Pro" controller instead of that stupid tablet controller.

Bought the Switch, and I legitimately play it more than my PS5. It fixes everything I hated about the WiiU. It's like they finally figured out "Oh. OH! So people want decent games *and* remakes *and* indie titles."

If I had to choose between my PS5 and Switch, it'd be a hard choice. I'd likely go with the PS5 *only* because it has a crapload of RPGs.

 

I have to admit I literally LOL'd the other day when I read a review on it, and the subtitle was something like "The most exciting Amazon delivery simulator you'll play all year!"

 

The hunt is finally over. Got a ps5 coming after getting one on the Newegg shuffle at MSRP. The first couple I found I let coworkers take to give to their kids for Christmas last year (MSRP, not scalping) and I haven't been able to find one since without paying scalpers prices. Haven't had a Playstation since ps2.

 

Very true! I tell my wife it's basically an Amazon delivery driver after ww3. Rebuilding America 1 package at a time.

 

What you gonna play when you get it? GOT for ps5 is amazing. Platinumed it on ps4 and had to play it again on the ps5, I also heard returnal was good but I haven't gotten to it yet.

 

You guys should try My Summer Car.

 

No idea, open to suggestions though. My good friend pleays a lot of GOT and is insisting I get that first. Hopefully I can finally give my QLED samsung the workout it deserves. I've been a PC gamer for a long time so I'd like to look at what exclusives there are, figure out what else my friends that have ps5 are playing.

 

Everyone is doing remasters for ps5 so you'll have plenty to choose from

 

I still haven't picked this one up. This looks like the kind'a game I'd much rather play on PC so I've been waiting on a Steam sale, but so far no dice (I may have missed a couple). Despite some of the negative reviews I read early on, it looks like the kind of game I'd love to get lost in.

 

It's hard for me because I become a hoarder when I play games. Never let anything go because I might need it later. That said, this game is killing me, there is so so much loot and I'm not going to spoil it for you but having kept so much stuff it finally paid off and I was able to complete a large section of the map with all my resources and it makes things so much easier.

I'm the WORST at that! I'm still running through the Resident Evil games, and even when the game flags an item as no longer needed, I STILL put it in storage instead of discarding it. But sounds like it'll benefit me once I get around to playing. Thanks for that tip!

I gave up trying to find a PS5 after getting my hands on GPU a few months ago, so I did a full PC upgrade. Being a PC gamer at heart, I've been happily gaming mostly on PC again (Cyberpunk has been awesome at 80 fps), and only fire up my PS4 for exclusives. I thought about making another run at a PS5 for Christmas for my son, but both my boys have discovered PC gaming and really haven't been on console much. So if I find one, it'll be all mine!
