Someone asked earlier about whether it was port injection or not and also the cooling of the turbos has been brought up.
Apparently it won't let me link it to the correct part. Skip ahead to about 15:05 for the talk about the engine.

Man, this looks better the longer I look at it.

P.S. those fog lights would be the perfect spot for some heavy duty (horizontal) CHROME tow-hooks! :)

yeah driving back our platinum the night we picked it up we didnt realize someone had fiddled with the manual adjustment on the headlights and they had them on setting 3. couldnt figure why the heck the headlights were so bad.

at least with the new platinum it will be automatic, thank goodness.

The truck is going to be a success. The design will grow, decent gas mileage, I trust a Toyota hybrid way more than anyone else's, good figures, and we'll see on pricing. If it's priced decent it'll sell.

Will be going Limited iForce Max, trd offroad, lunar rock with boulder interior. I like in this one that the electric motor only works from 0-18mph. In the ford the powerboost switching from gas to electric randomly up to 50mph is pretty jarring sometimes.

Pretty sure there's a good documentary on this on Youtube. Maybe something from the Grand Tour I think?

I think so too. I think it'll turn heads when people see it on the road (in a good way ). And I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised at the price.

Oh I'm sure. There have been books written on it and their are actually businesses that contract to large corporations on teaching the philosophies. Interesting tidbit: Back in the 70's the guy who pioneered it pitched it to the big 3 first and they turned him down flat, so he went to Japan and Toyota hired him. When Toyota started having success and being noted for quality, the big 3 started trying to copy what Toyota was doing. The rest is history as they say.

Check out the face on shot at 16:59 - are those tow hooks under the mustache? Haven't seen anything like that on any other shots and doesn't look like a suspension component

Yeah, so far the SR5 Offroad looks pretty dang good (Sport as well). Those and the PRO. The others all have too much chrome for my liking. I really want to see what a regular SR5 looks like. Not a fan of the TRD wheels I have seen so far, but not a deal breaker. I am leaning SR5 as my top choice (unless it looks terrible) and SR5 Offroad as second choice. I don't need all the fancy stuff, but i am sure most dealers will have off roads and not many SR5's.

LR looks great but this in Cavalry Blue would be fiyah. If the 6.5' bed was an option, that might bring me to the table.

If you’re talking the red bar, I think that’s the front sway bar.

. That said, he wasn't wrong and I'm done in this thread. Maybe the new Sequoia will not suck, which is what I wanted and why I cared so much about this release.[/QUOTE]

I would not hold my breath, I will bet the new Sequoia will be very very similar to the Tundra in almost every way, interior and exterior

its because 90% of the population that buys a tundra equate chrome to high end, the people on the tundra forums only maybe account for 2-3% of the tundra buying population.

FACT. I sell chrome door handles and grills so fast on facebook marketplace and CL to old guys. My dad bought a 21 limited and swapped in the trail grill to cut down the chrome (pro/ platinum was not available in cement). Sold it to a guy locally before he took delivery of his new platinum- he wanted chrome up front- gross!

Looking at all the pics, I bet one of the best selling trims will be the SPORT with the 3in factory lift... wont be able to give away the lowering kit for these trucks with the market flood that we will see.

yeah, our 2018 has a button to turn on auto headlights, otherwise they are just normal stalk pull/push function

Thanks for seeing I wasn't trying to attack you. Maybe it'll grow on you over time. It's growing on me more and more and when I first saw it I hated it. But now I'm probably going to buy one. In any event, I hope the Sequoia is everything you want it to be.

I can’t stand chrome. Totally turned off by the 1794, which I would prefer for the features were it not for all the chrome. My plan is to get a Platinum in Silver and hope everything matches.
Is chrome supposed to be easier to clean off bugs? Is that why truck front ends are covered in it?
