Nice drive back to my dad's place, a little break in the rain.

I drove to Clarkston and then took hwy 129 to the border. Guess the turns to hwy 3 in OR. Went all the way to La Grande.

Nice. Instead of making that 90° corner headed up the hill on the highway, keep going straight. That's called snake river road. Awesome little windy road. Some camping spots along the way. All tent camping. Fun place to be in the summer or during fish runs.

The camping along the river on Idaho side is called Hells gate State park. Had to look it up as it was bothering me I forgotten the name. I believe there is a boat launch. Volleyball in the sand next to the river. Fun little park. Horses are also allowed.

Any PDX area folks ever been to a Portland Cars and Coffee event in Sherwood? Their theme for Oct 2 is Overland 4x4.

We got 2 3/4” of rain here from the ‘event’ that started Friday. There’s a good chance chanterelles will be blooming soon!

Tillamook has its own smell. People around these parts, call it‘the smell of money’. Lots of dairy cows!

I'm on shift right now, but it's my last night for a while.
Come Saturday morning I'll be out looking for some wild organic venison to take home to mama and the kids.

So I haven't been on here in weeks...well maybe once or twice for a minute....anyway skipped the last ten pages of comments and read this one.

Cars and coffee is at Langer's. Its less then 1/2 mile from my house. Its pretty cool...or at least looks like it. I work weekends and haven't made it. On days I have taken off I have driven by and seen some cool cars. Usually pretty good turn out. Langer's is also an awesome place to hang out. Lots to do so bring the kids and fam. I think they stay closed during the event and then open later...Don't quote me on that though since I haven't actually gone to a Cars and coffee event.

Anyway hope everyone has been doing good.

A quiet weekend with some of ya playing in the hills.

I just did some test runs for dinner tonight. Do a big crab/seafood boil in two 30-qt pots. Getting the cook time down for all the components turned into a bigger math problem than I like to tackle on a Saturday morning. But I’m ready now!

Nice. Looks like we’re gonna be seeing some cooler temps and even a little rain, but it’s the unplugged part I’m excited for.
