There are tab holes that would be showing if you took the chrome off. I ended up just raptor lining the 3 chrome stripes in white which matches pretty well from +4 feet away.

Your truck is ridiculous; it looks brand new! I need to drop mine off with you for a few weeks.
And , I like the look you're going for!

Looks just like a truck I almost purchased when I was looking a few years ago, but ended up getting a titan. The one I was looking at probably wasn't quite as clean. I do love white trucks. My grey is pretty easy to make look nice, but black is terrible for anywhere with a winter season.

I think that looks like a very nice truck. I wouldn't change much of anything. Personally I'd go black wheels and stuff, but your wheels look very nice and they match the truck well.

My 1998 Tacoma is the first black vehicle I’ve owned. So far it’s not fun to clean

In winter I just stopped trying to keep my old truck clean. We have hard water too. That makes it fun to clean at home. I think I waxed that truck twice a month.

Unfortunately, not my truck so can't take credit, nor can I answer questions. This is @Bulldog_tundra 's truck. Huge inspiration for me, such a clean, fine, incredible ride. I have an AC, his is a DC. I took his photo last year when I thought I wanted to do this and photoshopped it to confirm this is the look I wanted. Only just now finally, finally had the opportunity to get there. Been waiting to find a good chrome grille forever. Opportunity to get there thanks to @wandering_boy

I didn't like having paint-matched everything as my Limited did, so after someone firmly tapped my rear bumper in a parking lot I decided to go full chrome bumper and add a chrome grille to throw some shiny up front also, sort of like the pic. Like you, I hate the chrome strip on the actual bumper skin! My truck doesn't have it, if I remember, yours will likely have a notch yours sits inside. Not sure how you can get around it w/o switching the bumper skin.

I mean, your truck and his truck's stance and wheel/tire combo are really where I'm headed. (I've even offered to buy yours if you want to upgrade!!! :D)

I can't express enough gratitude for you both keeping it real with OEM wheel + aftermarket tire combo. Both of y'alls trucks look like the supreme edition of what a 1GT should look.

You going to integrate a pull out ramp that drops down for his ease of in/out?
Piece of plywood, some no-slip, 2 tracks, 2 pins. Pull out, drop on ground. Some fold out feet if the angle is too steep.

I almost got caught with this too. You've got to make sure you're getting the cheaper hose like trans cooler hose or something. (Unless hose is just crazy where you're at.) First time I asked for it they rang it up for about as much as you paid turned out to be fuel injection rated hose. Got the lower grade hose for much cheaper.

All the newer generation trucks have more trans gears than the 6 speed Tundra. Extra OD gear or 2 helps. Also the 5.7 Tundra has a 4.30 rear end. Makes it a towing and off-road beast, but gas mileage suffers. Most domestics have 2.73-3.23 rear ends. Less pull off the line, but better mileage on the highway. Especially in conjunction with taller OD gears. if you put a 4.30 and the same 6 speed on a domestic truck, it would get similar mileage as the Tundra.

Worked on my 05 DC this weekend. My brother has been using it since his car is out of service. A few weeks ago we did some front end work on it and this weekend we did a differential flush with some Mobil 1 synthetic as well as tire rotate/balance. We also noticed that leaf spring on the passenger side appears to have some sag to it as even with a full tank of gas, the truck sits higher on the driver side than the passenger side. There is about 2 to 2.5 inches of more space between the top of the tire and fender on the drivers side than on the passenger side. The leafs look identical to me as far a curvature, which isn't much. They are pretty much flat. Where to grab replacements? OEM or aftermarket. Hopefully something that won't cost an arm and a leg.

Weird, I just posted about a similar issue, but with new aftermarket springs. I imagine you will have a Dobinson recommendation coming.

I used 3/8" flat washers. Let me know how it works for you. I still have a vibration at 40 - 45mph. Otherwise it's smoothed out. I may try adding a few more to see if I can eliminate the last of it.

Spring is likely wore out, or broken. That piece should be spring return.

Perhaps not much help but I went thru something similar a few weeks back whereby my driver side when I unlatch seatbelt, the socket button would not comeback up. As for clam shell socket, I could unplug the connector without an issue and remove 2 plastic pins but after that I accepted the fact they did not want me to open the clam shell

So after almost 20 years, I said fudge it and bought new from McGeorge. Don't wish to cause myself an early demise by screwing up seat belt lifeline.

for my MY and what not....

Have you programed it at all yet? The tap-to-signal would be nice to have.

It comes pre-programmed with tap-to-signal (smart tap), double-strobe-pause-repeat on the hazards and park lights on at keyless lock/unlock for 20s I think. I haven't done anything else yet, was going to use it for a while first, see if I'm cool with it, then decide.

I wasn't so stoked about the non-stock hazard setup, but I think it's also smart for DD to leave that customized when sending to customers; annoyed customers will likely try to find out how to turn that off, and in the process see how damn easy they make it to program.
