Element is idling smoooooooove now. I seriously can't tell the motor is running when I sit in it. Now I'm 4 beers in cleaning up my garage and looking for a spot to put my new welder.

:welder:picked up a little 140 Hobart. I decided I don't need more than that. Good times ahead, I have a lot of projects to do with it.

If I can get my garage where I want it by the end of this week, I'll be bringing my oval window beetle home next weekend. Thats gonna be real fun. I have a dual port 1600 motor on the side that I'm planning to rebuild for it. Nothing too crazy but you need more than 40 horsepower to drive around town these days.

First thought is who did that, where do they live, I'm gonna whack them. But, it is cleanly done and I gotta respect the work. Its hard to see one of the best 4x4s get the mini truck treatment.

It’s a rusty body with rust free frame and front fenders + hood. It’ll be getting the spare 3.4 and a 5 speed with 80 series axles.. super slow project.. I’ll ge too tired when it’s in the barn and not buried

Without going on a huge internet binge, what makes them so awesome for offroad? I see they make great lowrider w/hydraulics option.

There's apparently one near me for not too much coin. https://macon.craigslist.org/pts/d/tifton-suzuki-samurai/7375778232.html

@Tundra2 what muffler are you running on your 5vz? The only one I've had experience with is Jardine because it was on my 03 Taco when I bought it. Sounded ok. I'm thinking 2.5in single in dual out but not sure what muffler will sound good. Ive got a flowmaster 40 on my 4.7

The only thing I've done to the exhaust is change 02 sensors so Original Muffler

I can only speak to the 3.0L but putting exhaust on that V6 didn't sound good at all.

i have a 14" magna on the 01 at first now the 02.. sounds good enough and it didnt fall apart in 6 years, magnaflow covered the whole exhaust when the o2 sensor studs rotted off though.

the 3.4 isnt a great sounding motor by any means. but headers and a freer flowing muffler REALLY made a difference in pep.

V6s in general sound a little off with exhaust.

This is why I've never done anything to mine. I like how quiet it is (for a truck)

I actually like the stock sound for the most part but I've got headers in the mail already so might as well go all the way. Plus I'm going to remove the cat and eventually supercharge
