She slipped up in one picture and forgot to block out her front license plate. I know the state but you don't have it listed as an option. It's on the East Coast though. I'll give you a hint. It's a state far enough North to get snow but still has a few decent beaches.

FWIW, at least one person on the forum knew where Freather lived. I gleaned from that person's comment that there was a telltale something-or-other in one of Freather's posted pictures which gave it away. I wasn't curious enough to dig deeper, but their claim of knowing was posted in either the Lunch thread or the WDYDT thread. The reasoning wasn't shared publicly but IIRC, that forum member posted publicly that Freather could contact them with more details on how they knew.

I swore I saw Freather's truck while driving through AL on the way to my parent's house. I almost take a straight shot down I-85 and hit some backroads that run mostly parallel to it along the way, entering AL around West Point. But ... I can't say for sure!

Well, I once posted a picture of the coast here in California and they were able to identify what beach I was at.

I'm always fascinated by that. I've seen that happen a few times here where somebody posts a beach or lake or mountain, and somebody else knows exactly where it is.

My only version of that is whenever I see pictures or video of Florida, I somehow know its Florida. I can't put my finger in what it is but that state is very distinct and I've only been there once

I also thought for a long time that he must be retired FBI/NSA etc because of how weird he was about hiding his location.

This was me. It was because he forgot to black out his license plate.

That could be one of a few possible reasons for secrecy.

Let's be real, if Freather was a HeATHER and not a FREd ... especially in such male-dominated places like a truck forum, they'd be liable to get unwanted attention in one of two ways: Either some dudes blowing up your inbox because they found out you're a chick, or straight-up attacking you because you're not showing interest for whatever reason, like marital status, alternative gender preference or any number of other possibles.

I don't think ay of y'all here with a penis is ignorant of how some other guys choose to operate. There are some super-fucked-up dudes in real life, and those guys can become total animals with near-anonymity the internet provides. Some of y'all guys out there who can't handle yourselves without being a total asshole really make the rest of us look bad. As a dude who has plenty of female friends I haven't and don't want or need to poke, I've seen and heard some crazy stuff in my lifetime.

    FREE FREATHER

I will say, though. The aggressiveness and fervor with which PHM pushed political commentary on topics, I suspected male, not female. I have at least two female friends with the same spirit and gusto on those topics, but 99% of the time it's my dudes who show that kind of fire.

But, for those of you old enough to remember, I suspect this is a question for Mr. Owl. (The world may never know ....)

Yep, I agree. With that being said, we should still respect their privacy and try not to look too far into it while still poking fun.

Or maybe his name was Heath, and nickname was Heath-er. Kind how I call my friend Greg Gregger.

Again, Mr. Owl could lend his wisdom here.

So I laugh whenever I read the name Heather. Short story, and maybe funnier when verbally told.

My brother in law has a long time best friend, they grew up in the Philippines together, both moved th San Diego, both are dentists, they're very close friends. Let's call him Tom. My brother in law wanted to buy the Cards Against Humanity game and found it for sale on FB. He was too busy to go meet the guy, so he plotted to send his best friend to pick it up. His friend was single at the time, so he told him to meet this girl named Heather and pick up the game from her, she sounds cute. The meet was set for a Starbucks at a mall.

He went, of course, expecting a chick in yoga pants. My brother on law told the seller a good description of Tom and even what he is wearing. While Tom is checking out every white girl in yoga pants waiting for Heather, he gets a tap on the shoulder. He turns around hoping to see a pretty blonde, looks down and its a 5 foot tall older Mexican guy with a thick mustache. "Hi, Tom? I'm Leo, here is your game"

That was a mafia like setup.

Well I just spent the last half hour trying to figure out who Heather is and getting in on this inside joke... it was worthwhile, so thanks.

Off topic, I really need to get a 1st gen so I have a reason to hang out in this subforum more.

I'm not sure if off-topic exists in this dimension. In my experience, this subforum is sorta like the "mullet" of Tundras.com.

But, like, in more of a cute, adorable Joe Dirt kinda way more than anything else.
