It’s been in the plans for a while, just been too hot out to do it. Looks like this is what I’m doing tomorrow morning though.

How are you liking the Rigidhorse light bar? I’m thinking of buying one myself reviews on Amazon seem to be great but the forum is what really separates the reviews for me lol

It’s been good for the price point, seems solidly built and decent output… but I’ll be replacing it with a Diode Dynamics bar eventually, or maybe a Rigid bar if I decide to brave their sidewalk sale this year.

Probably have to go with single row rigid, I think the double row would be to tall, unless you cut the bumper back more.

Yep, I’ll do whatever fits there. Single row amber is the plan for now, unless I trash the bumper before then and end up with an aftermarket one…

Chopped the tail pipes after the axle. The wife wasn’t too happy with this mod, but she’ll get over it, lol. For some reason she thought the exhaust tips were part of the reason we went for the TRD exhaust system upgrade when we bought it… no, it’s all about the bwaaaaaaahhh when I mash the skinny pedal!

Tracked a new clunking noise that developed at some point after the weekend trail run - ended up missing the nut for the drivers side lower shock bolt! Not exactly sure when it came off, but I’m 99% sure it was there when I hacked the exhaust up. Neither Ace or Autozone had the right sized flange nut (M12-1.25 btw) so I got a regular nut and washer, and added thread locker along with torquing to spec. Thanks to @BiggHertz for helping confirm the correct size and pitch.

I plan on nut and bolting everything I’ve touched on the truck soon now that it’s supposed to cool off a little. I’m sure there will be a few that need to be retorqued…

Yeah I found the part number pretty easily, but had to run to Maricopa to help my FIL with some stuff and didn’t have time to deal with the dealership. It would be nice if Toyota would list the specs with their parts instead of having mystery pieces with shitty pictures. I’ll pick up a couple of those at some point just to have on hand.

Thanks to @liquid_g, I got a sweet deal on a BakFlip G2 cover. Did the initial install last Thursday night, and I finally got the bed rail drop brackets and everything else mounted back up today. The whole truck needs a good wash, but I need it to cool down outside first.

I still need to decide how I'm going to run the drain tubes since the bed rails block the post pocket holes, but I think I can fish something in there if I find the right size tubing.

@TRDFerguson do you have any decent photos with the bora spacer/stock wheel combo with 295s? This is what I want to do with my truck.

I can’t find anything in my photos with a good straight-on shot showing how far the tires stick out, but here’s a few that kind of give you an idea. This was after mounting the 295/70R18 Wildpeaks on the stock Off Road wheels. I think the wheel spacers amounted to around +35mm offset.

These are perfect. I’ve been back and forth on either doing this or getting the method wheels that are 35mm offset. Hard to justify buying the wheels if spacers will get me in the ballpark though.

I liked the stance with the 1” Bora spacers a lot. I probably would have kept it that way, but I could never keep the machined look of the Off Road wheels covered, and I despise the look of “chrome” on Magnetic Gray. By the time I paid for powder coating and remounting and balancing the tires with the stock wheels, I was most of the way to the Racelines I bought. I don’t know whether you have the regular Off Road or the blacked out Pro/Trail Ed/Nightshade version, but your white truck can handle either version just fine.

Wrapped up a couple items recently, first being moving my radio mount to the side of the center console. The dash mount that I rigged up didn't hold up during the last off road trip and I don't see myself picking up a Rago dash plate and Ram mount any time soon. I was worried that I'd hit it with my knee while driving, but it's actually in a pretty good spot and out of the way.
    IMG_2883.jpg

I was moving switches around to get ready for the business card switch holder that @abomb60 started printing and decided to rewire my traction control disabler to simplify the connections a bit. I didn't take any pics to show the process because I'm a idiot, but here's one showing the chaos of wires at one point.
    IMG_2941.jpg
It's much more compact now, and just has 4 connections - power (tapped at a cig lighter harness), trigger wire (tapped at the VSC Off switch), illumination (optional, tapped at the AC controls, but could have used the rear window switch that was also getting relocated), and ground (originally had 2 separate ground wires). I also reprogrammed it using a shorter cycle, so it's a little snappier to activate at power on.

Here's all the switches waiting on the holder
    IMG_2945.jpg

And finished, after I butchered Adam's nice craftsmanship with bad sanding. I can probably fix it later, but it looks good enough for now and it's pretty well out of the way.

Saw a guy on another thread put a foot switch for his light bar. Would be pretty bad ass if you moved your nuclear power module to be triggered by a foot switch. Stomp the switch then stomp the skinny pedal.

Picked up my catalytic converter protection/skid plate today. Couldn’t find security bolts locally in the size I wanted, so I’m going to try some button head Allen bolts for now. At least they’ll be rounded and harder to get vise grips on or snag on rocks and stuff.

A local shop in the Phoenix area just started offering them, though I don’t think they have any of their truck armor on their website yet.

My truck was up to shenanigans today. Started off good, getting an alignment done and things feeling great as I drove home. I decided to work on installing the new cat protection plate, but when I got underneath, I checked the passenger side cam tabs and found out why my alignment blew out in the first place.
    BD8B6812-A080-4D6F-9F10-C2864449383A.jpg

The tab on one side is gone, so looks like it’s time to add some Total Chaos gusseted cam tabs. The alignment shop was good about it and let me know they’ll redo the alignment for free once I get the tabs fixed.

On to the cat plate, apparently it wasn’t designed with the TRD Pro engine skid plate in mind… not a huge deal, as I just need to add two more notches inside of the existing ones. The problem I ran into was that I didn’t figure this out until I had both plates almost completely snugged up. Then I found out I cross threaded one of the rear TRD skid bolts, so I had to sawzall that thing off since I couldn’t access the top of the crossmember where the nut was stuck. I’m going to try again tomorrow after I’ve taken a grinder to the new plate, marked in red.

I hate it when " small" jobs turn into much bigger projects. Glad your able to get it on without having to wait for more parts or a different skid.
