I didn’t realize that came stock on the newer trucks.
Can you run fogs + highs from the factory? I was under the impression that wasn’t legal (therefore no manufacturers did it)?

Same with CO. That’s why I was thinking manufacturers don’t do it.

…and why it should everyone’s first ‘mod’ :D

Did not realize how much I would like the look of the AJT Black vent ring covers. No weird sun reflections and they just look cool. 40D1663D-7462-431B-A067-4A1A0C852253.jpg

No, the 2020+ functions the exact same way. Fogs go off when Highs come on.
I'm gonna do this mod this weekend actually.
And yes, most states have a limit of only two sets of forward-facing lights active at one time (the high beams have high and low both on at once). But the way I see it, I'm only running my high beams when I don't have someone in front of me.

Went ahead and picked up the Yakima Loadwarrior while evacuated in Sugar Land, just got the extension in yesterday and put it all together! Things are slowly coming together.

    What this guy said:
I did it on my 2008 originally. A couple weeks ago driving through MT in the middle of the night in a bug storm (literally - looked like a snow storm of bugs) while trying to scope for deer on the sides of the roads I was REALLY wishing I had my fogs on with the high beams. I was also wishing I had a few hundred thousand worth of lumens in ditch lights and chase lights as well because there were a few stretches where it was like a game of frogger but with deer.

I have the 10 inch system and it’s great. If you don’t want any drone in the cab install the resonator, it made a huge difference.

I followed those directions as well for my 3rd gen + the below video. Those two things in combo were enough info to get it done.

Yes...sort of. Specifically, it changed in 2018.
In comparing the 2008 EWD to the 2018-2021 EWD, the connectors and the colors of the wiring are different for 2018-2021 trucks. But the function of the headlight switch and how that signal is "processed" to activate the fog light relay are nearly the same. The ONE difference is that the Fog Light Relay coil in 2018+ no longer uses the Tail Light Relay to provide the power to the coil (which is controlled by the ECU). In the 2018+, the positive side of the Fog Light Relay coil is supplied power direct from the battery - so if you were to jumper the equivalent wires in the 2018+ trucks the way described in the "Fast Eddie v1" document, you would end up with your fog lights being on any time you had the fog light switch on (you are essentially hard-wiring your fog light wand as a dedicated switch).

So, in order to have the same function that is in the 2007-2017 trucks using the "Fast Eddie v1" modification, you would need to replace the power feeding the fog light relay coil with power from the output of the tail light relay as well.

    2008 Fog Light Relay:
    upload_2021-9-16_12-5-39.jpg

    2008 Fog Light Switch:
    upload_2021-9-16_12-7-9.jpg

(Fast Eddie V1 is jumpering the pink fog light switch wire to the grey fog light coil wire, which then relies on the power supply from the tail light relay controlled by the ECU to enable the coil).

2018+ Fog Light Relay (power to the coil is provided by the front fog fuse):
    upload_2021-9-16_12-6-9.jpg

2018+ Fog Light Switch (different color wire, same function).
    upload_2021-9-16_12-8-58.jpg

    2018+ Tail Light Relay/control/output
    upload_2021-9-16_12-9-43.jpg

Of course, the challenge here is that the power to the fog light relay and the fuse it comes from are both in the same box, so you'd have to do some creative surgery to modify that power source.

Interesting, I misread the above posts. I didn’t realize that the newest trucks were different.

Yes, and to be clear - you CAN turn on the fog lights with the parking lights on the 2018+ trucks. That happens to be part of what changed with them providing power from a direct battery source.

you CANNOT turn on the fogs with the high beams - the ECU still issues the "off" signal.
