These are mini wire looms for two wire airbag wires. I'll see which option I like best on the old sensor wire.

 

I have a roll of that in my van. It's good stuff.

Called Swope and spoke with the manager of the service department.

Asked about labor for optional things like the carrier bearing, and rear shocks. Was told that rear shocks would be included if new were presented at drop off. Carrier bearing would be a little bit of labor as they typically swap the drive shaft as a whole unit without taking it apart.

Asked about buying parts through them, and having them stored at the dealership until the frame shows up. I was told that was possible, but not reccomend as there's quite a bit of activity in the parts department. Service manager didn't want things to go missing... makes total sense to me.

I asked about having a full list of parts that are replaced with the frame be emailed to me. SM said that because it's a 2000 that the lower control arms would most likely not be replaced. She said she would check, and include it in the email.

Asked about ETA for the frame and was told they won't know until it's there basically.

 

Idk what makes the control arms qualify but on my FIL's 2000 they were replaced.

 

The SM mentioned that 9 out of 10 times they are replaced as they have to cut them off. I'm going through the parts list of things replaced with the frame to see what they have actually ordered already.

Quite a few items on it... I may have to message @empty_lord to get details if every one of the items are as vague as the frame link..

 

Pages 4-12 should be a list of everything replaced in general. Assuming this is probably what you're looking through already though. I think I've sent it before.

No, I looking at the work order slip they got back from Toyota. I think? Here's a screenshot of the parts list the SM emailed me.


Looks like new rear shackles.
New gas tank straps.
New exhaust gaskets.
New spare tire carrier obviously...

I'm not sure what's included in either brake tube kit 1. Trying to do some sleuthing on that....

I did ask the SM about replacing ALL of the metal fuel/brake tubes. She said that it would be included in the job if I elected to BUY those parts.

 

Is it the lines to the calipers, or the actual hard lines? Maybe just the section from the lbpv to the drums?

 

All frame ran brake lines are done. For some reason though not fuel lines as they charged me for fuel filter replacement. Maybe those run down the body not the frame. Not really sure and it's raining so I can't check.

 

That fuel filter replacement is worth the new frame. Fuck that pos fucking fuel filter.

I had them do all 3 soft brake hoses since they already had to bleed brakes. I don't think they charged me for that as they just cut the lines off differently.

 

Also, for the record... it seemed like the SM was trying to tell me that as they replaced later year models, more items were replaced on those trucks than the earlier year models.

As they progressed with the replacements, they realized more and more items should be swapped for new. They apparently never went back, and updated the earlier model years lists to reflect things that were replaced on the later model years.

So... @empty_lord here's what I can't get details on, and would greatly appreciate your help.

1. Brake Tube Kit 1 - Toyota (04009-5010C)
   
2. Tube Rear Brake No.3 - Toyota (47323-0C011)
   
3. Tube Front Brake No.1 - Toyota (47361-0C011)

I just want to know which tubes are included in the kit, and the exact position of the two other tubes. All the online places I've searched show "No image available" and no description.

 

It's as if they installed the fuel filter in the factory before the cab is put on!

 

All the frame work, and suspension was most likely done before the cab/Bed were put on. That's how it makes the most sense to me if I were the engineer in charge of doing the automation of the line.

Easy access. Workers aren't strained. 5S in place. Etc...

 

Lowers are replaced if the cams are seized… so 98% chance @Tundra2 will get them

 

Yes! And it's hard-piped in! Mine leaked the entire time I had the old one off. I even had the truck running and pulled the pump fuse to clear the line. Fuck that thing.

 

New fanb bracket came in today. Can confirm old fan bracket was replaced with cheap Chinesium chunky junky at some point.


Fan bracket was replaced with actual race parts, but only around works 3:00 am...

Why not just use plasti-dip, then wrap that after with something?

 

Well I'm considering all options to protect that wire. I never read up much on the V8s, but I don't think I've read of that sensor going bad by itself. It's always the wire on that one.

May do a combo of self Vulcanizing and loom. I felt like shit when I got home so I didn't investigate the old one.

 

While you have everything pulled apart and are under the truck, how does the inside surface of the front bumper look? If it's like mine, it's likely rusted to crap and decaying from the inside out....

 

The inside of the bumper? Yes Rusty Randy. Most definitely. A future glimpse may include something that @FirstGenVol has...

 

Can confirm, Toyota didn't know the status of my frame until it was headed in their direction. they replaced all steel brake lines, rear shackles, a bunch of Misc bolts, the LCAs and bushings. I can scan a copy of my invoice if you'd like when I get home today.

Yep, there's a reason I haven't changed my fuel filter yet.
