    I'm trying to figure out the best way to still go. Delimma: Son has hockey practice at 1700-1930 on Friday, Saturday he has a game at 1600 till about 1730, Sunday we are free. Talking to Wife about just coming up for Saturday evening after game... but with the 2 and 3 year old... she is not 100percent. By time we get up there will all the wheeling be done? Sunday morning will people be taking off rather early? Just curious.

    Yeah, that’s a tough schedule. If only he didn’t have practice so late Friday night, or if there was a way for him to attend practice without you… you could come up Friday, camp and pack Saturday morning, do an off-road run, then leave from trail end and make it home in time for the game. But yeah, the main off-road events are Saturday. Some groups will do another run Sunday then scatter at trails’ end to go home; others will be sloooow starters on Sunday and spend all morning at camp.

    Not really. I want to see you, @nlaroy, but I’m one of those ‘keep all commitments’ parents, so I back you in supporting your kid keeping his obligations. It’s not easy teaching kids work ethic, so I can see that making an exception for parent fun may not be the lesson you want to teach. Whatever you decide, I back you.

    (But I sure look forward to seeing you!)

    Sunnier, basically you hit the nail on the head. I'm trying to show him that if he says he is gonna be on a team, then he has to commit and make some sacrifices. I'm thinking at the very least, we'll keep the site, and shoot up Saturday early, and come back in the evening.
