So hypothetically, you drive a Tundra to a dealer ship with a snapped frame, but the rear cross member is fine... would they replace the frame?

No clue. My Turd Gen doesn't have that issue. :p

In all seriousness, I think that any manufacturer is going to do everything they can to avoid replacing parts on vehicles older than 5 or 10 years. I don't know what their parameters were for the frames in the past, so I am wholly unqualified to answer.

No, they'd tell you to tow it to a another shop or a junkyard because they cant be liable for handing you the keys and driving it home.

Isn't it a common problem with that gen f150 and mostly the ranger where the leaf spring shackle mounts rust off the frame?
Think I've heard that the truck has to be driveable and the frame can't be badly bent up. Probably to keep people from buying salvage trucks with rusty frames and getting the frames replaced so they can just sell the new frame.

Mostly due to spare tire crossmember rust theoretically causing spare tire to fall off and cause an accident. Easier than dealing with lawsuits from people running over spare wheels.

Man, this waiting for parts game sucks. Waiting for parts on the chevy. Both rear parking brake cables, and intermediate cable. Stand still there.

RCLB... Waiting for camshaft sensor. Stand still there. Need to move closer to a dealer

I had another job offer of sorts a while back. My dad is building a new house in the dfw area and asked if I wanted to wire it. I'm taking next week off to drive down there and hook him up.

I do, but new construction isn't bad. We don't do any new houses here, market is too full and there's too many cheap as fuck companies to actually do good work AND profit.

    That would be sweet! :burnrubber:

I'd bet we'd get better gas mileage as well considering the Lexus IS 500 F sport gets 24 mpg.

Pulled some ground beef out of the freezer this morning. It hasn't thawed enough to be formed into burger patties but I don't have time to wait. Gonna throw some blocks of ground beef on the grill and hope I can smash them. Maybe this is how Wendy's got square burgers.

You don't form them into patties before putting them in the freezer? Maybe I'm just the odd one here that does that.

Normally I buy a pound of beef, split it in 4 and cook 4 burgers. My wife got a 2lbs tray recently so I made 4 burgers and I thought I would use the rest for lasagna. This morning she said make burgers for lunch so I had to improvise.

As far as making patties and freezing them, I've done move this before and wrapped them in wax paper. Depends what kind of patty I'm aiming for. In the past I would mix the beef with some small chopped onion, a bit of BBQ sauce as a binder, salt and pepper and whatever else. Lately I like just lightly forming a meatball, covering it with pepper, and throw it on the grill until the bottom browns before I smash it to a patty.

Today's lunch was kind of the smash technique, minus the pepper. Threw on some pepper jack, grilled the buns, smeared some sour cream on the buns (I hate mayo) and a little hit of thos green salsa. I don't have tomatoes today, didn't bother with lettuce or onions.

    20210915_115808.jpg

Not today haha, this was a rush job. Normally I like an onion bun or potato bun. I do run with sourdough or Hawaiian if I have the right ingredients. Bacon lends itself to the sweet Hawaiian bun.

As in burgers made of mushrooms? Or burgers topped ith mushrooms? We definitely need some pics.

Maybe we should do a burger challenge soon, before Summer ends. Add a poll to vote for who made the best looking burger.
