Keep messing with the setting. I think there is something bout carplay that can auto connect when you start the truck.

I ordered it from their eBay auction and it came is the 4gb model. Unless you plan to do some modifications to the brackets and screen positioning, I’d either hold off until joying let’s me know what they will do to make it work correctly (new shroud is needed to make that happen) or settle for the 10.1” unit, which has proven fitment. Just my 2c. If you choose to go my route, I can post pics of the back of the screen so you can see the mounting bracket changes.

    Thank you
What I can see is that the brackets r movable up n down but weren’t aware of it being able to move side by side. I’ll wait to hear what they tell u and hope to hear from u regarding this issue. Still on the fence between this Dasaita

They aren’t “supposed to be moved sideways but I was able to make it work. Not really recommended but they are solid and holding the face nicely.

Here is the reply back from Joying:
“For installation, please noted that the screen can be detachable, there will be a little gap between frame kit and 11.6 inch screen. It won't like factory fit”.

Honestly, I’m not happy with this solution but I’m happy with the outcome of my install.

Also, Joying said that they’d send me one of their ahd backup cameras to make up for the poor resolution.

After everything is done and installed, I’ll make a video to show it off.

That’s nice of them to send you one of their ahd camera. Did you ask them why you cant get the canbus setting to work with your swc?

with the new cam, you’ll have to run new wire and find a place to mount it. That’ll be fun.

My SWC is working now:)! You got me squared away on that. Yeah, I’m surprised they would send a free cam but I’ll take it. The wiring can’t be much worse than the PKE wiring, and that wasn’t too bad.

The on screen buttons on the agama launcher aren’t working. I’ve just been using the stock launcher….mainly CarPlay though, which is completely separate. All the swc work good with CarPlay. I just wish I could assign the voice control button to Siri and not google assistant.

I see. yeah no way u can do voice with siri. Wont work.
at least everything else works, so that’s good. try the free Car launcher version. It’s not bad.

    Thanks guys
I was able to confirm with them that our oem back camera won’t work unless we use theirs so I added it onto my order. Also order a dvr camera for the front because that’s the only option for the front. But it’s odd because watching one review on YouTube the gentleman went into a section where there was a front camera option. Not sure y Joying said there isn’t one?

I hope you guys get all kinks worked out. After reading all this I'm glad I went with the Pioneer (even if it is double the price). Ain't nobody got time for all this!

Yes, they said it wont work but indeed it does. You need the metra axxess retaining harness and it will work. the factory camera is not high def so the resolution on a high def screen is what you see from Beau’s photo. Does it work? Sure. Get the job done. If you want high definition you need their ahd camera. Which you will have to run the wiring from the back of the truck to your radio.
if it come free, sure, I’ll mess with it. But if i have to buy it and then get under the truck, run and tie up all the cables. Find an entry point under the truck somewhere to gain access to inside the cab. Run that up to the radio. I dont know. Extra work that i rather not do just to have a higher definition backup camera, where we spend less than 30sec using.

it’s definitely not for everyone. If you are ok with tinkering, yup, it’s for you. If you don’t want to mess with it. Go with mainstream brand. trade off is good for me. Half price. HD screen, i can using my phone as hotspot. The wife and kid can watch their show when we are on the road to vacation. Etcc. For me, it’s worth it. But again, not for everyone.

I feel ya. It was a hard pill to swallow when I pulled the trigger on the Pioneer. FYI... the Pioneer offers the hotspot feature and allows you to retain the RES.

that definitely was not available 2yrs ago when I bought my joying radio. Premium pricing for sure. i have yet to find a way to retain the res for my sequoia. The older sequoia was able to do so but somehow they miss my 2017.
Unless they finally figured it out by now. what pioneer unit did you end up with??

A bunch of tinkering up front due to the fit, for sure. Now that it’s all installed, it’s no more cumbersome than the pioneer W4400nex that it replaced. The HD screen is awesome as is the option to add any android apps or games. Overall, I’m happy with the outcome now that it is modified to fit and anyone who uses my picture to configure their screen will have WAY less of a headache. Time will tell on the longevity of the product but it does have a 2 year warranty.

I've likely got some stock Sequoia TRD Pro running boards en route in the next week! These should be a direct fit, as far as I know. Anyone think otherwise?

How much did the Pro running boards run you? Also, I've never actually seen these in person. Are they just black running boards or are they made from a more durable material than the versions that come on the Limited and Platinum?

I'd rather not talk price until they are on my truck. They are made out of cast aluminum which, to me, is a huge upgrade over all of the current offerings. Does anyone know if they are a direct fit to non TRD Pro models, particularly my 2008 Platinum? Thanks

A non-powder coated pair of weld-on sliders is right at $1,000. I'm just wondering what the price difference is between sliders and these Pro running boards. If you don't want to discuss cost, could you post the part numbers so I can do some research on pricing?

As far as fitment, I would imagine they bolt right up. From all the feedback I've read the cosmetic portions of the 2nd Gen seem to swap right out whether you have a 2008 or a 2018.

Looks like the cheapest I can find them online is Sparks. The price isn't the cheapest, but you get a 25% discount on the shipping which in the end makes them cheaper.

Fitment guide said "NO" to fitment of my 2018 Platinum, but it also said "No" to the fitment of the TRD Pro grille that took me all of 10 minutes to install and married right up.

The TRD Pro running boards look to be about $450-$550 cheaper than purchasing weld on sliders and they hopefully bolt right up. @Beau looking forward to hearing your thoughts once you receive them.

So, the boards are on the way to me and will be here on Monday. I was able to score them for $250 plus $120 shipping from a private party who removed them from their TRD Pro. I have been wanting the gorhino boards but was told they didn’t have any that fit the sequoia. I like these better and they seem to be built tougher as well. Will post pics and update after I receive and install them.

Package came a day early and my wonderful wife helped me install these today. They are a direct fit on my 2008, so I assume they'll fit on any 2nd Gen Sequoia. Huge upgrade over the stock boards that they replaced. The brackets are robust and the boards are thick cast aluminum and SOLID. @Adamdsgn , here they are. Recommended!
