The last guy wasn’t so gentle on the axle.
    Thanks guy.

Must have used the grinder, well that sucks.

Also, Tundra axles are a bit more stubborn than the Tacoma ones.

Painted the rear end, spray-bombed the leaf pack, did the rear Diff breather mod, new u bolts, sandblasted and painted the u bolt pads, and new gas tank straps.
Put some blue grease on the inside of the strap, that will keep it from some corrosion.

Recently purchased a 2013 SR5 with low mileage, it was originally owned by a house painter so I had to clean the paint marks off (vegetable oil and elbow grease) now the truck is in pretty good condition so I serviced it (oil and air/cabin filters), (it has 50k miles) and so far have added a Toytec 3/1 Leveling kit, Fuel Shok Rims, General Grabber 275/65/R18's and this weekend will add a Boss Stereo (don't know if it's any good yet, got the priciest Boss they had off Crutchfields) and a Kicker 10" Hideaway Subwoofer, the Tundra is definitely growing on me. Last few trucks I had were a 2012 lifted Tacoma Sport then a 2021 Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison so I'm not new to the truck world but now I'm checking out Tundra's offering, so far I'm optimistically pleased. I definitely like it a lot more once I got rid of those steel rims, tiny tires, and changed that low front stance, it was driving me nuts, I like my trucks lifted evidently. I'm loving the changes I made so far and am looking forward to making this truck my own for hopefully a few years.

I used Chassis Saver, hammered off all the flake rust an weld slag, then wire wheeled all the rust with an end grinder and then wiped down with the s8 reducer.
2 coats of paint. No top coat, they do recommend one for anything that gets constant uv exposure.

I’m going to coat the frame with woolwax after I get it aligned, before winter.

Replaced damn near everything on the drive train with Oem parts, everything was rusted bad, had to cut the lca’s off, no way were the cam bolts going to get adjusted ever.

Used about 2 quarts to paint frame, receiver and rear end.

Ratchet strap failed on a trailer full of wood. Took out the bed corner, tail light, bumper, and side of the bed. Not currently happy.

I have that same console, I love it. I wish the plastic tray was about 3 inches deeper. Any 3d printing guys out there that could make it happen?

Yep, the tray is useless. I’ve been searching for something else that may work instead

Installed the Head Unit, it's really actually pretty impressive (BE950WCPA $449) and the Kicker Hideaway Sub, it actually sounds pretty good even with the stock speakers and definitely has some thump, it's continuing to grow on me more and more, but I did order some Kicker Door speakers since the stock speakers are idiotically overpowered and outmatched by both the new HU and the subwoofer, looking forward to installing them now. (I still have to mount the remote button from the sub and microphone from the stereo, and I need to take it all apart again to plug in the antenna, I realized I spaced it when I disconnect it when I was stuffing wires, and I'll be fiddling with the sub's tuning for another week)

and here's another pic of the truck in it's natural habitat since it's just so damned good looking

“Redneck Engineered” my passenger side rear bump stop. It separated from its bottom pad and fell off, so I drilled a half inch hole through the rubber and zip tied it in place for now with six zips in opposing directions. Plan is to put airbags on the rear of the truck for when I tow my camper but I don’t have the coin to drop at the moment for the kit, so I figure this will do for now.

Yup….I’m a pavement pounder most of the time, so honestly it surprises me how often it seems to come into play. Only thing I can think is clearly my leaf pack is shot….and speed bumps and my “rolled curb” driveway are probably what do it. I have a DECKED system in the bed so there is some weight there. Perhaps it’s just enough to bring the axle up that high? I don’t mob over speed bumps but I feel it does move a lot. Air bags are cheaper than new leafs so probably will just leave it at that once I get those. Trying to not destroy the new shocks I just put on.

Probably making contact from the suspension being crossed up rather than being overloaded.

I had ziptied bumpstops on one of my truck's for almost 10 years.

Got my Coverking seat covers installed today. Driver seat was definitely showing some wear in the ol girl. Like the look and feel, but there is a bit of a squeak (neosupreme over leather) that I'm hoping will eventually go away. I'd like to figure out a way to cover the center console next, if anybody has any suggestions.20210913_113242.jpg 20210913_113227.jpg 20210913_081725.jpg

I've got that exact same wear issue on my drivers side lower seat cover... Where did you source the seat covers from and were you able to get them by section or did you have to order the whole set?

Curious, seems like an awful lot of parts to replace “just because”. Anything I should be looking out for / failure points on my 08 with 145k that I should know about? I’ve already replaced the radiator at 120k cause it had a small leak, and belt tensioner assembly when I did the belt cause it was causing a squeak when cold. Other than that, truck seems to be running just fine
