Rear Bumpers and BSM

Hello everyone,
Does anyone know of any aftermarket bumpers that will work with the BSM system? I am looking at buying a C4 Overland front bumper and saw that their rear says it’s not compatible with the BSM. Was hoping someone might know of a rear bumper that would be.

None yet. The only one on the market was pulled the others haven't been demonstrated to work properly.

Oh wow...I didn't know that. I thought they had it all figured out.

 

Unfortunately not. Another member on the original group buy thread bought the bumper and installed it. He posted his issues and findings in another separate thread. The company did right and refunded his money. Not sure they pulled the bumper because of the issues he had with his install but I suspect it may have been a major factor.

ICI has a rear bumper that supports BSM, I don't know their forum handle but they were supposed to post an install video or at least it was suggested. The only other one I know of is CBI but they are still in the testing phase before releasing their product. There is one more lesser known name but I can't think of the company right now.

 

In general, anyone shopping for a BSM compatible bumper I would consider how easy is it to install the BSM sensors, how easy it is to perform BSM calibration, and how protected from the elements is the sensor (sensor face and connectors). Also looks like there are two sets of sensors on the Tundra so mounting compatibility for the pre2017 sensors vs the 2017+ current sensors is an issue. Most importantly I would also avoid the recessed channeled designs, you want a configuration that is as close to OEM as possible.

 

Has anyone spoke to CBI about their rear bumper for the Tundra? I last spoke with them back in January and was told a March release. It’s now September and still no bumper. Anyone have any accurate details?
