Hey everyone! Glad to be a part of the forum, especially representing the Inferno squad! Here is my comical first build post and mod! To start, this is my first full size truck and I am a mega noob to mechanical work. I purchased the truck used with 61k miles and few mods already included: Window tint, tow mirrors, bed liner, tonneau cover.

    1st FAIL mod:
Truck came with no antenna so I purchased a shorty and when I went to simply screw it in I then realized the OLD antenna had snapped and still in the thread. Can someone give me tips on how to remove out of thread? (see picture below)

    To Do List:
    -Headlight Revolution LED Headlights
-Either Baja Design or Morimoto fogs
-Fix skid plate noise coming from low speed turns
-Wireless charging in center console lid
    -LED Bar/Pods eventually
    -Super light tail light tint
-Figure out best way to level rear end with front (need to research this)

Truck will be used to carry heavy weights and I want to start exploring trails near Los Angeles/SoCal/Utah. Again I am a noob to trails/overlanding, this is the start!

I love the inferno/black combo but may look into bronze/gold rims at some point. Going to keep this build minimalist and simple with subtle upgrades only us Tundra owners know.

Any tips for trails (near LA), headlight experience, suspension appreciated!

    Welcome aboard from NW Oregon!
On the antenna issue, try a couple things to get the piece out, some have had luck with drilling and an easy out. Some have been able to buy a small left hand turn drill bit that when it starts to bite, it will thread the piece back out. Non of that worked for me and I ended up having to replace the entire assembly, a real PITA!

I love the inferno trd pro, I saved the press shots as wallpaper for years, I dont have any advice for the antenna, but I do suggest get rid of those steps if you plan to hit the trails, and run skinny 35s.

Thank you for the ideas! I will try and figure something out, was thinking of a tiny amount of super glue one the end of something small and try and spinning out. May risk closing the hole completely LOL.

Yeah the antenna will be annoying. Thanks for the steps tip! Not sure if skinny 35s will rub, I will research!

on stock pro's won't rub, you will have to remove the front flaps and that's pretty much it.

it gives the most clearance with least amount of work, I've had them installed on the truck before I even took delivery and love the size, no bmc, no special alignment to have lots of caster, no bumper trimming or spacers, and they are lighter than 295/70r18 tires.

    bmc= body mount chop
    cmc = cab mount chop

both mean the same thing, you chop the body mount on the truck to gain extra clearance for bigger tires or wheels with lower offsets, the rear did kissed the liner at this:

Those are stock from 2018+ , you can retrofit them onto older truck with a harness, keep your eyes out on the marketplace here, sometimes you can find used ones for a good price, just keep in mind the OE LED headlights has 2 version, one is blacked out, one has chrome inner trims, I think Pro and sport comes with black out ones, while others have chrome inner trims, also keep in mind that based model 2018+ still has halogen.

Welcome! Best color! That black trim piece around that antenna stud is rubberized and runs about $8 last I checked. Mine was totally shot and fell apart, and off before I bought the truck, so if yours is brittle and needs replacing anyway, break it up and you might be able to expose the broken stud enough to get some vice grips on it.

I will also recommend the Diode Dynamics ss3max through a forum vendor like @memario1214 with the caveat that you'll want to do a forum search for installing the bracket with additional zip ties. The original fogs in these trucks were secured with inserts, hopes and dreams and even light oem bounce all over without additional reinforcement.

I went with morimoto headlights because of previous experience with morimoto and would probably go with oem pro led lights with a harness if I did it again. Not unhappy with the morimoto at all, and I like the sequential signals a lot, but even the scratch and dent versions I bought came at what I consider a premium price.

Thanks for all that input! I’ll hit up Toyota to replace that antenna thing.. As for the Diodes, youre the 3rd person to say that so I’ll def check em out. Everyone is recommending to go OEM with headlights!

I've got those fogs on sale for one more day

As for leveling your rear to match your front I would say look into a Coachbuilder shackle replacement. It will provide you with the lift back there without really sacrificing anything else. I would call David @ Ekstrom to confirm, but you probably only need a +1 by the looks of it.
    https://shop-coachbuilder.myshopify.com/

As for the headlights whether you go OEM LED or the Morimoto variety they will both be an upgrade over your current setup. I have both in my possession, and will be putting on the XB LEDs here soon, doing a comparison video, the whole 9. The issue is that they're on sale right now (I sell these too btw), pricing is going up in October, and there won't be another sale before then. I feel like if you do a bunch of research online and on the forums here over the next couple days and decide you want them you can save a chunk of cash if you're going that route anyway.

What are the differences in the 3 option for the Fogs? Light output? Also, I’m not seeing OEM LED headlights on your site.

So the 3 output levels of the SS3s are just that, power output. The sport will be more powerful than even OEM LED fog lights for sure. Sport might be the path a guy should go down if he's interested in looks. But if you actually want noticeably better performance the pro or max are the way to go. If you are comparing colors the yellow is going to be better suited for poor visibility conditions such as fog as the longer wavelength of light reflects less and will provide greater ability to see.

As for the OEM LEDs I am not Toyota so you won't be able to source them directly from me. If you want to buy new I would recommend looking up Sparks Parts online. Otherwise I would keep any eye on Ebay or the forums for a set of OEM LEDs to come up. You'll also need a LED headlight harness from @daveeasa or @iHacker

    SS3 output comparisons:

Just to clarify one tiny point, iHacker does the Tundra harnesses, I'm only currently doing Tacoma ones. I think there are a few extra complications he deals with on the Tundra side, and of course the connectors are different. His thread is here.

The photos I've seen of @iHacker 's work are impressive to the point where I haven't even looked at 3rd gen Tundra. I'm glad he is taking care of people. I think there are a few different versions to be aware of, different ways to do the DRL? His thread has tons of info.

yup, stock offset, need to remove front mud flaps and that's it, mine graze the front trd sway bar once a while at full lock and full flex, but no rubbing on body mount or anything else.

The one day out of the year an Infernal Orange truck really really gets to show off. The one day out of the entire year they look like it’s not a mistake…

If you ever get tired of the black wheels. Bronze looks great with inferno as well. Makes the color pop and you can tell the difference between wheel and tire from a far. Plus not many of them on bronze. Shit it’s rare that I see another inferno nowadays besides the one sitting in my driveway. Hands down the best color besides voodoo blue. Congrats on the truck.
