Take out a relatively simple V8 and drivetrain, and swap in a complicated TTV6, yup gonna be some kind of price increase.

I highly doubt that. If they are truly aiming for the Raptor market they will have to price it competitively to it. According to Edmunds the MSRP for a base Raptor with no options is $65,840. The TRD-Pro will most likely be a starting price of high $50k's to low $60k's (which would still be an increase of about $4K over current base TRD-Pro (MSRP $55,195))

Good thing that's not what the non Pros look like. That was just a render from a guy trying to clickbait his youtube channel.

The red ones are actual non Pro trims, and look better. Basic styling for the truck is polarizing, but in a year or two it'll be the norm.

So you think Toyota's financial and accounting dept is over here on the forums surveying and asking us what we think THEIR truck should cost? They know what the R&D costs are, parts cost, sales projections and what the competition is priced at. They already had the numbers figured out a long time ago.

Yes I expect a price increase to happen. Because when has a new gen truck ever been released and it has been cheaper or priced the same as the outgoing model? Never. There are even price increases year to year in the same gen model (i.e. a 2021 Tundra costs more than a 2014). We're getting a new powertrain, larger infotainment screen, more tech, more features, pano sunroof etc etc. The truck increasing in price is an automatic, even in the lower trim models.

You should really go back and read some of @Cpl_Punishment's posts. He has a sense of humor and pokes fun at ridiculous things a lot. Pretty sure his post was pointing out the absurdity of people spouting off MSRP numbers like any of them have a clue.

Rosy, correct me if I'm wrong.

A lot of times, the press event is right about now and the info gets embargoed until it's allowed to be posted (probably after the official unveiling). It's why all the youtube videos will be released within an hour of each other and they'll all be driving in an identical location. I wouldn't be surprised if the red Limited we saw in the pictures is headed to that event.

Did you notice on the other interior shot, you can see the CrewMax in the background being unloaded? Toyota did a great job of the "controlled leak"

Totally. They should allow some of the journalists to leak stuff so we can be done.

I think the Pro will be nice looking. Those red trucks do nothing for me.

This truck looks like a grandpa’s truck. Too conservative and boring. And a lift would just make it look worse. Thank god for my 2021 and the V-8!

Yes, I would much rather have an actual shifter.

About the only thing I like in the exterior is the fact they kept the mirrors in the correct location. I cannot stand the mirrors on the doors of the new gm trucks it just doesn't look right.

It’s 2021 owners like that who will make buying a new Tundra worthwhile just so they have to see the new truck.

I hope the 2022 Tundra offers a model that has a hideously ugly rear end, that is also ridiculously quick. Like raped ape on bath salts quick.

That way 2021 owners and other haters will have no choice but follow the 2022 and quiver in impotent rage.

Stop putting transfer case buttons on center console cant wait to lay my tape measure and everything else on it all the time while driving lighting up the dash like a christmas tree willing to move up a trim or two to get bench seat lol and the 4x4 better be on the dash or floorboard and that hand is too soft

I'm not one of the butthurt 2020/2021 owners, but I've always felt like that. I work on and live right outside a military post, where a small subset of enlisted/former enlisted modify the living @$$% out of their vehicles to see who's the quickest to....get on post or drive home after work. LOL

Way past that stage; I just want reliability and the ability to tow a 14' trailer.

Folks really seem to be digging deep to find things to complain about.

"I hope that chrome tailgate handle doesn't blind the driver behind me causing him to crash into my one-piece bumper and sending my 20oz claw hammer that I typically lay on top of the dash (because it's a work truck after all) flying rearward cracking that giant screen sticking up like a billboard."

Most new body styles Come out , and after a while, most people end up really liking it. I like this new style from what I can see, interior as well as exterior. I just hope and pray that this new Tundra motor and transmission are a better fit than the néw stuff in the Tacoma. WTF were they thinking with that motor, trans and godawful seating position. I wanted to buy what would have been my 3rd Tacoma, but just could not get over that ridiculous low seat position. I’ve been waiting for this 4th gen Tundra to come out for a long time. ESP with better gas mileage than the 3rd gen. I’ve got no shame admitting that I’m a huge Toyota fan boy, fingers crossed that this will be a big winner! I Will withhold judgment on the lack of the back panel embossed TRD PRO. That was a real winning combo in my book. It just looked so good. No idea why they took that “signature style” away from the Tundra. And instead used what looks like a direct copy of GMCs little black hood “vents”. Please have gotten it right Toyota, Bc the only thing that I’m gonna trade my beloved 2006 Land Cruiser for, is a newer and better Tundra. And I do love my Land Crusher. When it came time to sell either my Porsche 911 or the land cruiser, I sold the Porsche and don’t regret that decision at all. Great car, amazing car actually. Best I ever driven. But my land Crusier takes me over the road, through the woods and to CO and back, all while the comfort of max cold AC that never fails. In fact, nothing ever goes wrong with it. Only reason I did not buy a last 2021 Land Cruiser, is Bc of no Apple car play. Really. $85K flagship
Vehicle and Toyota can’t put Apple car play in it, but the Tacoma has had it for years. It was a slap in the face for the approx 3200 people a year that actually bought the LC in America. Rant over, let’s bring on the 2022 Tundra!

A lot of people trade in the raptor for that complaint. They love the ride but say that thing can’t haul anything.
