I'd say headlights first since they offer more function I just got my grill put on today

headlights are more functional, but if you can buy and wait to install both at the same time, it’ll save you from taking the grill off twice.

I had the same issue. Lock install was simple, but the tab was a pain. I ended up popping the tab out, sliding it in the panel and then it popped right in when pushed the panel back in place.

Got my old topper painted to match the new truck and got my awning back on there. Also added some Rhino steps and weathertech mats. I don't love the wheels and tires that were on this truck, but can't justify replacing them yet. I'll use them through the winter and then see how I feel.

But I see license plates all day when I’m driving. Blurring plates is a trend that seems rational when explained, but doesn’t consider that there are millions of license plates on the road that aren’t blurred. But I try to blur mine with mud. :)

I drive by thousands of houses every day but I don’t post my address on a public forum. The license plate thing is probably no big deal, but the idea that you can tie some mildly-anonymized information from real life to an internet persona that may or may not troll people from time to time can be a privacy concern.

I think the bigger question is why do people ask “why others blur out their license plate?” so often, lol.

is more of connecting the dots...gathering information. We all see your license plate while driving but when posting it to a forum or bookface, anyone can add the dots and gather a lot more information. forgive me for getting carried away but it imagine this...

now I see your License plate, on a forum, while i am on my computer, I look at your post history, find out you have kids, some of those kids practice baseball, and maybe they (or one of them) are in the football team as well because at some point you made a post about all the gear you had in the backseat and other post mentioned u went to xxxxx park for baseball practice with your kid and saw another tundra. maybe in one of your posts you posted a picture of your back window with the stickers for ur kids school and ur kids baseball/football team also a sticker of ur stick family, showing you have a wife, 3 kids a dog and a cat, then a post of how much you love your dog "beast" a chiuawa ?? even though he will not stop barking all day, and how ur cat "spike" always escapes the house and comes back with random gloves he steals from the neighborhood. i also noticed your wife is a nurse at the local hospital because you mentioned she has had some late shifts due to the rona cases being on the up and up... oh let me check your bookface, and let me link up to your wife's bookface... so much more information... maybe i can even tell what is her favorite starbucks drink based on the daily posts from starbucks on her way to work...

you posted how you purchased your tires at your local "tiresmax" and "Dave" was super helpful to you.

i decide you, your house and your belongings are worth my time and effort and i have enough info to plan something out.....

i make a call to you, because cell and even landline numbers are only a click away, tell you i am Dave and there was a recall for the tires you had installed 6 months ago and we had a free set of tires available for you to install and i would like to schedule an appointment to get you taken care of ---- oh u are available today? perfect !! how is 4pm sound to you? great !!

or maybe i can pretend i am a chase representative and your card which you used for your tires purchase has been compromised.... and so on and on and on and on...

i get it most of us may be smart enough to spot a scam from the beginning but scammers are getting better and better at targeting people and using the free information available to scam us.

sure you may not fall for the scam, but could you say the same about your wife? your teenager kid? your parents? because i was able to identify them and locate their contact information from bookface cross posting... or your grandparents? who barely know how to check, like and forward everything they see on bookface?

Blurring your license plate is kinda like locking your car and making sure your valuables are not within sight or shredding mail or not giving your phone number to the lady in the corner asking for you to sign up for weekly updates of her new scentsy deals... anyone can assume that if you have such a beautiful truck, there may be something worth stealing inside, so if I really wanted it, I can just break the window and get in there... but since I don’t see any valuables within reach, maybe I'll move on to the next vehicle where I can see a purse... maybe I get lucky and get $20 from that purse.

So.... why blur the license plate, probably for the same reason you lock your truck at the mall.

Sure we can go back and forth as to why many of my points may not stand on their own but... why find out the hard way. I blur my plate when I remember to do so, just like locking my truck... most of the time is unlocked but I lock it when my wife reminds me to do so.

if anything, it is more important to ME to blur my license plate than lock my truck. i have insurance and these are nothing but material items (i dont keep any private information on my vehicle... also as dont save your home on your GPS and label it HOME...) but private information can be use to hurt you or your loved ones, maybe not now, maybe not next week but eventually and there is no insurance for that.

    sorry...i was bored. lol
