For those in the know, Florida can be broken down into 5 distinct and different regions.

The north - which is actually, “ the south” Beautiful beaches, motorcycles, rednecks and meth.

Disney World - Any vacation nightmare you could imagine, then add 4 times as many people as you thought.

The South, anything Orlando down. Great fishing on both coasts, avoid the tourist traps, bath salts, methamphetamine (it’s a little classier than just meth)

Miami - Beaches, babes, little Havana. Know at least a little espanol.
P.S. Cuban is not the same as Puerto Rican is not the same as Mexican.
They still do cocaine there, not as much meth.

The Keys - Should be a state of its own. It’s a state of mind.
No two keys are the same, nor are the people from key to key.
Drug of choice will be forced upon you from key to key.
The trips change, so bring clean underwear.


Florida

 

A Florida Publix parking lot is one of the greatest mysteries/amusements around.
Finest cuts of deli meat, name brand gourmet wines, fresh cut fruit salad, at least one Porsche 911, two pickups with -88 wheel offset, a couple fighting over their meth pipe, at least one stripper(sometimes multiple), at least two homeless guys looking for “a light”, 2-3 car loads of underage drinkers, a hot milf, some type of BMW, and a random security guy that’s asleep in the back of the parking lot.

 

And in PCB last week a bunch of hungover sunburnt 20 somethings dropping random slaps on an innocent light post.... and me without my slaps.

 

You were probably just a few miles from my best buds house.

PCB never grows old, just your body does.


Aaaaahhhhh Memories.

 

I'm going to argue that is not the south. From someone who is about 30-45 miles from the gulf of Mexico and was born n raised south of I-10 in Louisiana, THAT is NOT the south. To be nice, the south is a state that touches the gulf. To be real, the south is anyone born n raised south of I-10 throughout the states that touch the gulf. Just my $.03

 

I feel the same way.
If you don’t have gulf beaches, you’re not the south.
But, this is the common “the south”.

When I was stationed in Virginia, I remember locals proclaiming Virginia “the south” and I was always like, no!

 

So are Arizona and NM the only southwest states, or does Texas have a claim in that too?

 

Texas is Texas.
They don’t do geography.

 

From me, I consider it part of the south (my version) with the "rule" of it touching the gulf.
I also consider hurricane considerations a factor as well. If your state has the strong potential to get molested through the pee hole by a cat 5 hurricane from the gulf, then it adds fuel to my homemade dumpster fire
