So I'm just going to throw it out there... mine is officially the nicest 2nd gen black tundra on tundrasdotcom... hahaha

When I poster this I was the only one here with a black 2nd gen, so it's not true anymore!!! I think it's not right that I drool over other black tundras when I already have one!

Are you going to keep the chrome bumpers or plastiderp them?

No I'm not a fan of Chrome bumpers. I like silver or chrome but not like that especially on a black truck. When I had my Tacoma I planned on learning to make bumpers and off road stuff and two years later I have one more tig class before I have a welding cert. So... either I'll build my own bumpers and paint or powder black or I'm going to have the chrome stock bumpers powder coated black. I may do that anyway and if I build bumpers I'll just sell them. We shall see.

Here's my "old" 2010 black Tundra. Never should have traded it. Probably the best optioned regular cab pickup ever sold until the absurdly overpriced 2014 Ford F-150 Tremor.

And this why I want a black tundra so badly. Might end up trading mine sooner than I thought.

Here's mine, this picture is from September, not too long after I took her home. It's a 2010 Crewmaxx, 4x4, 5.7l, with the towing package (and 4:30 rear end). No rear view camera, no leather, and no sunroof, I honestly couldn't have ordered it any more perfect myself. I have since taken the running boards off, and sold them, and put 9,000 miles on her. It came with a pretty high-speed low-drag remote start system, and a nickel sized ding in the rear chrome bumper, probably from the PO backing into his trailer hitch. My only real plans are to pick up some RW wheels if I can find a set decently priced, definitely put some bigger Duratracs on (I love the stuffed look on these trucks) although I haven't decided on a size yet, and get a color matched grille, and front/rear bumpers. I traded in my 08 Tacoma, and I felt like I was dumping every paycheck into it for mods, and pissing off the old lady, so the key will be to keep this truck tasteful, and not go broke!

Both of these....especially the second part....as you are fully aware...once the mods start they never seem to stop.

Yeah man, the rock warrior ones. Everything else can go but those are sweet. Just think about it before you do it. After you've got it lifted big tires, exhaust, it will look good and you could still have just a tinge of stock to it with those. You paid for those bad boys so I say keep em. My 2 cents!

I was thinking if I do keep them then I would go for a black and red theme. Maybe a red toyota emblem or "TUNDRA" on the front.

The only thing I took off as far as badges was the tundra badge on each front door and the little toyota badge on the tailgate

Thanks man! I can't tint the front windows, because it's illegal in NH, and that wouldn't necessarily stop me, except in my line of work, I ought not be a hypocrite. And yes, it's going to be hard to NOT mod this truck, but as long as the wife is in the financial-know, it'll be pretty easy!

Oh don't get me wrong i'd love to, and if it was something that no one cared about, it'd already be done to match the rears. But... My boss would notice it before I even pulled in the parking lot at work...
