OK, I need some confirmation on what I have, another Unicorn find possibly??

    I picked these up today...
The story is that a Tacoma guy was doing a swap and these ended up not fitting his setup.
They just sat with him for a few years.
He said he had them for about 3-4 years and got them off CL randomly...

They were an impulse buy for me, and I actually don't need them but they're in great shape and very rare.

TO BE FAIR, I DID WAIT A WEEK BEFORE MAKING AN OFFER! LOL!

The TRD Part number is 17141-101

    The Doug Thorley EO# 0-050-4

These are 50 state CA smog legal

These will only work for 00-04 4.7's unless you have the air bypass kit then I think you can make them work but do your own research first, I have an 01 so I'm not 100% sure on that...

Long story short, I have JBA shorties already AND a set of TRD LONG /MID tube headers but my TRD mid/long tubes have the same part number.

    Can anyone shed some light??

As you can see they are in great shape, much better than my M/Long tubes, with only surface rust.
Easy to take care of but I would ceramic coat these rare parts...

Yes, these are going to be for sale but not sure what they're worth so if you're interested just shoot me a PM with your best offer.
I'm trying not to horde them.. LOL!

I AM in the market for a beginner crypto mining rig...

    I'll ship no problem.
It'll just go back to funding my FGT project.

    Now for the pics!

These are of my TRD Long / mid tube headers, notice the part numbers

These are ceramic coated now waiting for install :p

    Doug Thornley makes shorties?

I don't get the benefit of replacing your JBAs with those; maybe the TRD mid tubes makes sense but not another set of shorties.

Edit: Nevermind. Had to reread the post.

Hes not keeping these. I've never seen those shorties.

Those TRD mid length are sweet!

Only found one thread with any info on them so far on here:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/1st-gen-trd-headers.24198/

and he got them ALOT cheaper than I did... talk about a bubble burst:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I did find another page a few days ago with a TRD dealer retail around $1k when new, but of course, now that I have them I can't find the link anywhere... errrr....

I emailed DT so hopefully, they'll get back to me and can provide a little more info on them.

The biggest question is still why the same part number as my long/mid tubes??

I posted them on the other FB groups and the gurus over there all seem to confirm the consensus of what they are and a range to ask for them.

The rarity comes from the fact that most people that would order these went with the TRD long/ mid tubes so that is probably why they stopped making them.

I'll update as soon as I get more news about them but please feel free to add any information that you might find for those in the future reading this post...

Interesting thing is the flanges look identical to the ones on your mid length headers. Wonder of DT made those too.

    Sold in two hours. Insane.

I hope the buyer speaks up and lets us know when they install them.
