The rear bumper is horrendous, I'm with others that if your using this thing as a truck and you kiss the bumper on something your in for some serious damage with that design. Front grille is just a huge chunk of black plastic that's going to look like ish in 3 years when it fades, very disappointing. Interior like others have said looks pretty nice, I'm not a fan of the tablet style out the dash but that's the way the industry is moving u guess.

That gas filler door right in the bedside body line really bothers me for some reason. Overall, I don't love it or hate it, but could see it growing on me.

It looks like a Silverado and a titan had a baby. It frightens me to say this but I would buy an F150 before this new tundra if my 2015 ever self-destructs Otherwise I’m riding it until the wheels fall off.

Holy crap! Non-refundable deposits on vehicles that haven't really been seen, spec'd, or priced yet. They must be the ones defending this mess.

There is an old adage that applies here, " A fool and his money are soon parted."

I'm glad to see that so many people have decided not to get one based on the looks, it will make it a whole lot easier for me to get one when they come to the dealer lots.

If I did the math right, here’s the break down.
15k a year at 19mpg is roughly 789 gallons used. At 3.00 a gallon that’s 2368. Now the same numbers at 25mpg is 1800 in fuel. A savings of 568 a year. To me that’s pocket change over the course of a year. And that’s if it gets 25mpg. I remember a time when someone’s V6 TT claimed that and the owners were disappointed.

Ha don't hold your breath, we waited this long for what they just gave us.

I think Toyota just made it easier for a lot of people to jump over to the 3/4 ton side of things.

What's with the small rear square window? I thought they were keeping the big roll down one

It's the grille surround that makes it look weird but unfortunately everyone who owns an older Truck will always say new looks ugly lol. This is same across all brands, My co workers who own older Rams, Chevys, Ford all say new ones look ugly. At the end of the say styling is personal preference.

Color matches grille looks much better IMO and interior is waaay better than the current.

Based on what they are doing with the tacoma they are getting away from the 10+ year between redesigns. I would expect for them to do updates and redesigns like they do with other models they make.

I didn't want it to come to this but I'm officially a 2022 Tundra hater at least for now. Grab your popcorn because I'm sure this thread is going to get lively.

    What I like:
First off, I don't care about styling. I own what is (in my opinion) the ugliest generation of Hilux ever and the ugliest generation of Tundra ever. I don't care, I have work to do. All of that said, I think this current generation looks good inside and outside. My personal opinion.

I also think the tech has improved. I'm pretty indifferent to tech but it looks new and modern.

    What I don't like:
Pretty much everything else. I saw a 13,000 lb towing capacity which is only about a 3000 lb improvement. Plus not much to write home about in this day and age. That said, if, unlike the current Tundra, it has payload numbers to back it up maybe not so bad. I was really hoping for 3/4 ton numbers though.

But apparently the "long bed" is 6.5 feet long. That's what I call a short bed. Don't even get me started on a 5.5 foot bed. I also saw with great disappointment that the axles are only 6 lug and there is no full floater in the rear. In short, the Tundra is still a bloated grocery getter. Booooo.

I’m more than confident Toyota will offer several packages/trims that will be chromeless like they do now.

Honestly they could put chrome everywhere and make the only paint available bright purple with orange polka dots and I would want one if it came with 2.5-4k payload, full-floating 8-lug axles, and towing capacity over 15k, all with a typically robust and easy to work on Toyota drivetrain, body, and electrical system.

That's an asinine expectation hope for a half ton truck.

There's no law saying a Tundra has to be only available in 1/2 ton models. Just saying...

Right.... just the fact that Toyota has expressed zero intention of going into the HD truck market in the States.

Probably a good choice for them. But I'm still bitter about it, in case you couldn't tell. Lol.

Pretty sure the majority of Tundra buyers won't care so long as it's reliable. This was the same kind of "backlash" the 4Runner got with its latest look, and they've increased sales every year.
