What I’m really wondering here is it looks like from these Toyota is continuing on the hodge podge of material mixture .
They really need to get away from that , I mean damn. The grey plastic , then chrome, then color match other pieces

Those trucks just look pieced together instead of one sleak unit.

maybe the other trims will be better. I’m guessing these are limiteds

I can't tell, does the interior appear to have the same structure as the new Land Cruiser? If so, it would be great if they decide to slip the LC into the US market under the Sequoia badge.

I am really disappointed! I was hoping for a really cool looking truck, both inside and outside. I must say I am not impressed. I was holding out on buying a truck because I was hoping the Tundra would knock it out of the park in the looks department. Appears like I'm going to have to look elsewhere.

Sounds like the consensus is the wives are making the decisions. Thus, the current truck market.

Yeah, because we have to live with them regardless of what decisions we make. Might as well make a decision that minimizes the discontent. Happy wife, happy life.

For the record, though, it was my WIFE who suggested I buy a new Tundra a year ago. :)

I've been considering the new Tundra and the new Z, and my wife is like "we need a new truck more than you need a twin turbo death machine"

After seeing the new Tundra, I'll probably get the Z, keep my old truck and see how serious she is, may be looking for an apartment and dog soon

If the average mpg is low 20’s. This new taco will do well. Let’s hope they did something to the LS500 TTV6 besides an engine cover. Camry engine in the taco, sales went up.

Yall are funny. Put a freaking S/C and nice big screen in your current truck. Paint the interior chrome and call it good. Unless it's a payload problem, I can't understand why the 2018s and up crowd is even talking about trading in and buying one.

Yeah its fugly. Really hoping the Sequoia is bad arse. I don't want a Chevy Suburban or minivan.

Agreed - given what I'm, ahem *cough* currently seeing, I'm likely not going to get one right away. I like the way the TRD Pro looks but I do *NOT* like the way the red Tundra in the pic looks. I'll either wait until I can find a Tundra that looks better than that, or until the next minor redesign. We'll see. Currently 100% happy with my truck, and it's getting about 17-18MPG mixed driving, so I'm good. :)

Considering my situation is changing to where I need a 3/4 ton truck, the new design is what it is.

I've pretty much decided to buy one just to screw with the folks who think looks are the number 1 most important decision about which truck to buy. Like the current gen should have a prominent exhibit place in the Louvre.

So reading through the comments from guys who don't like the styling or the new tech I have designed a new 2022 Tundra sketch for their consideration.

I addressed the overly large grill, the unnecessary flourishes in the sheet metal, the lack of tow mirrors, too much chrome, and the swoopy headlights.

Additionally in my vision for the 2022 Tundra both axles are solid. No coil springs. No leaf springs. No springs at all! Simple! Robust! There will be no twin turbo V6, in fact in an attempt to make the truck as dead simple as possible while still meeting emissions requirements it will have a 7.0L SOHC V8 with 2 valve heads, port fuel injection, and a nice low stress super reliability enhancing static compression ratio of 8.7:1. Also as a nod to making it simple and robust it will have a 4 speed manual, sissies who can't drive a stick can buy one of those other estrogen trucks. Also notice I have corrected the alarming trend in short beds on pick up trucks and put a roughly 10ft bed on this one.

    I will be taking deposits.

As opposed to the other manufacturers that use 1/4" steel on the dash? Plastic is cheap, that why they all use it. Maximize profits. And I will not be surprised if there are parts on the interior that will compatible with the next gen Tacoma. Make a lot of one part instead of two different parts.

Just noticed that. It looks exactly like the F-150 rear window. And for some reason that has always struck me as looking cheap.
