In case anyone wants some Labor Day deals which may end at any time...

I've been shopping with Serra Toyota of Decatur, AL quite a bit since Cool Springs went down. It's a solid choice, pretty quick to ship. They're saying there's a 10% reduction and using code FREESHIP will give you free shipping on orders over $75 (until shipping exceeds $200). https://parts.toyotaofdecatur.com/

Advance auto is doing the usual 20% off, LDAY20 is your code. Sucks the Retail Me Not always-ready RMN25 code for 25% no longer works.

Summit Racing has an OK deal going on using code LABORDAY, you can get $10 off anything over $30 and up to $300, but the amount increments up. Details on their site.

Agreed, but I doubt it. I've never seen a rat here in the desert. Unlike mice, rats need a source of water and there isn't much around. I'll certainly keep the remote possibility in mind though if the diagnostics of the usual suspects don't pan out.

Well, I've had to rethink the delayed ignition issue I'm having. When I went to start the truck after it had sat all night to take the old battery back it fired right up; no delay in ignition. When I got back in the truck after returning the battery (truck warmed-up) there was a slight delay. Hmmm. Fast forward 10 hrs. I went to start the truck (truck had sat and was "cold") out of my natural curiosity and it fired right up; no delay in ignition. Basic logic tells me this is not a fuel pump issue or a ground issue. Need to check the fuel pressure regulator when I have time. If that isn't the issue, I'm going to have to focus on electrical items/hard parts related to ignition. In short, no delayed ignition when " cold", only when warmed-up/after running for a time.

I replaced the regulator and the dampener and no change. Mine usually does it after it sits at work for 8hrs

Understood. Interesting. At this point I'm just thinking out loud more than anything. I have to get under the hood and verify the fuel pressure and bleed-off and get out my meter and start testing some of the electrical components. The slight delay is more of an annoyance than anything but I also don't want it to turn into a potential breakdown in the future because I neglected to be thorough.

When you say "yours does it after sitting" do you mean your situation is the opposite and the truck starts quickly when warmed-up and delayed ignition when cold or ?

Mine will have a slight delayed ignition after it’s sat for a while. But cold start ups in the morning it turns over no problem. You would think if it were fuel pump or check valve related, it would be all the time. I’m wondering if it has something to do with a sensor involved in closed loop or that’s just the ecu.

Ah, understood. And, yeah, that's why I'm leaning toward having to get my meter out for diagnostics and to verify that actual problem. I don't like just throwing parts at an issue in the hopes that I get lucky and fix it.

At this point I don’t know if it’s anything to be super worried about, check and clean the basics.
I would like to do the URD fuel pump upgrade kit, mainly so I can have a replaceable filter unit

You may be right and thx for the heads-up on URD, I hadn't heard of that yet, I'll have to look into it.

Not mine, original rack still. I thought it was leaking but when I pulled the boots there wasn't any fluid present. I watched the fluid level too and it hasn't dropped.

Trying to figure out this buck boost controller for my exhaust fan on the camper, I got a nice injection molded M18 bat holder(super nice finish, better than a printer)
I’ve got the output voltage set, now im just trying to set the over current parameter.
Also trying to figure out how I want to mount it in the camper, the bat holder has some nice counter sunk holes in it, maybe JB weld the buck/boost to the side instead of the top like I had originally was thinking

Negative. Mine is original but my tires are a bit smaller than yours at 32.8" Also, I barely put any miles on my truck. I remember @Rheywood456 had to replace his rack once, maybe twice.

I really wish there were shops that would rebuild things like that for a reasonable price. I remember reading rumors that Solo Motorsports knew a guy rebuilding steering racks and using some sort of delerin bushings. I wonder if thats a smarter way to go.

Got my truck with original rack and stock size wheels. Switched up to 35's for a year or so and now on 34's. I do have some knocking noises but no leaks. I did replace all the bushings with Energy Suspension. (still knocking and no leaks)

Could I ask why you went from 35’s down to 34’s? I need new tires soon and contemplating 35’s. But I still rub on these 34’s.

Coincidentally, I just came across some of these battery adapters while looking for an alternate battery source for my kid's Power Wheels based car toy.

Seems like utilizing tool batteries for various off-grid activities (camping, tree houses, etc) have become very popular lately.

Is this the one you have? It looks really well made!
